20x20 canvas “Inked”
As a child riding in the backseat of my parents station wagon in the mid 70s early 80s, driving up and down Whittier Blvd or Olympic Blvd in East La … I remember always being captivated by all the amazing murals. This was the closest I’d get to an actual museum or gallery at that time. Half my body hanging out the back window… (pre seatbelt law years) this particular mural always got my attention… located by the East LA Doctors hospital … on Gage Ave and Whittier blvd. Back then it was vibrant in color and detail. (See slide for a google map capture of its current condition)
Reimagined for it to be my first tattoo design for myself. Anyways.. made a painting of it. 😜
