⨠Vendor Spotlight ⨠Brothers Kai (left) and David (right) founded Duba with the goal of making it easy for people to love tea. They make unconventional tea blends inspired by the seasons. If you visit Duba at the farmers' market, you'll be greeted by a beautiful array of tea blends laid out for you to see and smell each one. Kai and David are always happy to help you decide on which tea is right for you and explain their exciting different blends.Â
Along with being the founders' last name, Duba means "the oracle foretold the truth" in Yoruba. Duba's company story started in Japan, where Kai spent a couple summers learning how to blend tea. At the time, David was playing football at Northwestern and UCLA. It became a ritual to have tea before every game. David's teammates admitted that although they don't normally drink tea, they really enjoyed these tea blends. That's when the brothers decided to sell their teas. The brothers have been in business for 10 years now. Along with selling at the farmers' market, they also sell their teas wholesale.
â The customer favorite is the muddy leather, a black tea blend with a dark chocolate flavor profile. This tea is a good replacement for coffee.
â One of David's favorites is the smooth operator, a non-caffeinated rooibos tea. Along with rooibos, this tea has cinnamon, cardamom, ashwagandha, fenugreek, ginger, pepper, lavender, almond, flavor, and cornflower.
