Nazareth Skatepark
This being the park I have probably spent the most hours skating at, it felt fitting to be the first I tried to replicate. The miniature version is designed as four modular obstacles, stairs with a rail and euro gap, middle with lunch ramp, ledge with hubbas, and a hip. Most if not all of the skateboards used have been skated on the real life ramp.

Forks Bank (and kicker)
First attempt at making ramps, decided to replicate the bank to ledge at Forks Township Skatepark in Pennsylvania. Added a kicker to utilize both sides of the ledge. Plan to make more of these along with other obstacles, keep an eye out for them in the near future.

Say whats up to Fung, a 3D printed lamp lighting the way for the critters of the forest. When out with friends Sumpy and Axo he helps bring some illumination to the hang. The design utilizes the material quality of PLA and acrylic to shine light through at different levels. The base shape was modeled in Rhino 8 and texture done in ZBrush.

Introducing Sumpy, a 3D printed desktop companion to assist with storage. The top of their head can removed and used as a tray along with having a branch able to hold headphones. There are also smaller Sumpy’s due to them originally planned as a hand carved bronze figurine. After running into a casting failure, this large version of sumpy was thought up and 3D modeled and created. Modeled in Rhino 7, textures in ZBrush.

“Cecil Pants” were made in spring 2022 for a course titled “Digital Drawing and Pattern Making.” The silhouette is similar to a work pant that I have skated in for years. The images were taken at the area outside Cecil B Moore Station where each of the textures are present. This being a significant spot for skateboarding in North Philadelphia. The pants are also designed with a double layer knee that if torn shows another tile pattern.

Axo is a casted bronze axolotl and 3D printed boat playset. They use their boat, know as “trajineras“ to clean up the waters in their homeland in Xochimilco, Mexico. Axolotls are an endangered species of salamender in the wild with this being one of their only places to call home. This project was created with the idea to bring awareness to the preservation of this animal along with water pollution in general. Also a failed casting of a wooden figure named “Sumpy” was turned into a table sparking the idea for the playset. The boat was modeled in Rhino 7, axo was hand carved wax and casted.

Mushroom Tops created last year for Color in Metals are exactly what the name entails. These are hand carved powder coated bronze tops with inspiration taken from multiple species of fungi. Symmetry and balance were thought about when choosing the forms. They are both functional with a certain technique.

“Crazy curbs” are a 3D printed curbs that can be brooches, toys and magnets. These are to scale for use with a fingerboard. Also with the addition of a pin can add a pop of color and a familiar form to an outfit. They are of course inspired by a parking block, but expanding on what can be done with the shape. Along the curbs I made to fit certain ones. Process video of that on the last slide.

Quaterpipe container for both storage and play. The wood texture was etched on to a coppper sheet with patina applied for color. The concrete texture was done using sandblasted nickel sheet.
