Hey, friends! I'm Danielle and I'm super excited to connect with you! Here's a little about me, so you can get a glimpse of the person behind the lens!
I was raised by a strong and beautifully complex single mother who poured her best into me, instilling in me the values of being a helper. And so, a helper I became. 🕊️
Throughout my late teens and into my early twenties, I worked in the hospitality & service industry. This experience allowed me the ability to learn how to create welcoming environments. It also showed me that I have a strong passion for hospitality and exceptional customer service.
In my late twenties, I earned a Masters in Social Work and embarked on a nearly decade-long journey as a mental health therapist. These years provided the foundation for self-discovery and cultivated my deep belief in humanity. This unique background has enabled me to hold space for discomfort, a skill that translates well into crafting friendly environments for those who may feel uneasy in front of the camera.
Photography has always been my passion, and in 2015 I started Danielle Shields Photography. I haven't looked back since! My intrinsic nature as a helper ensures you'll have a photographer who genuinely cares about your experience. What a gift it is to grow alongside someone. I’ve known @reneenicoledupont for the better part of 20 years, and it has been one of the great honors of my life to witness, hold, and move through so much together — the loss of loved ones, divorce, children, and deep self-exploration.
