A highlight of a recent visit to CDMX: Casa Gilardi, the final residential project by architect Luis Barragán. No surprise to learn that the house has been visited by - and an inspiration to - many other masters of color and light over the years, including David Hockney, Robert Irwin, and James Turrell 🤘🏼

R+A was on the ground in Dallas-Fort Worth this week for a press trip exploring new and recently opened exhibitions at @DallasMuseumArt , @FWModern , @TheAmonCarter , and more. Senior Director Delaney Smith (@dsizz96 ) shared her dispatches from a jam-packed three days: “Dallas-Fort Worth has an unbelievable amount of high-caliber arts institutions. Over the past few days, we took a whirlwind tour of just a sampling of the region’s offerings, from Jenny Saville’s sweeping survey at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth to ancient marbles from the @FondazioneTorlonia at the @KimbellArtMuseum , a star-studded exhibition of American modernism at The Amon Carter, and a wide assortment of contemporary works at The @WarehouseDallas —it scratched all of this art lover’s itches! The icing on the cake was getting to preview 'Constellations,' the DMA’s first exhibition of its remarkable contemporary jewelry collection. It’s a type of collection that you don’t often see in museum settings, and the DMA has put together a truly dazzling display of the creativity, play, and inventiveness imbued in these wearable works of art.” 🖼️ (1-2) “Jenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting” and “Highlights from the Permanent Collection” at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth; (3-4) “Myth and Marble: Ancient Roman Sculpture from the Torlonia Collection” at the Kimbell Art Museum; (5-6) “American Modernism from the Charles Butt Collection” at The Amon Carter; (7-8) “Natural Mystics” at The Warehouse; (9-10) “Constellations: Contemporary Jewelry at the Dallas Museum of Art” at Dallas Museum of Art

First weekend with my new roommates Scampi and Zino (legal name: Branzino). They haven’t agreed to split the rent yet but they have been putting up with constant paparazzi pics, so I guess that’s a fair deal. Big thanks to @bronxtailscatrescue for bringing these sweet boys home 💞

Rang in another year of existence as god intended: in the company of close friends, an abundance of stone fruit, and multiple listen-throughs of Charli XCX’s critically acclaimed album Brat (2024)
