Welcome to our current artist-in-residence, Graham Dolphin. Graham works across drawing, object-making, film, sound, text, and curation to create works that examine popular music and culture.
Graham has been collaborating with our students to create artwork for his upcoming exhibition, as well as delivering talks and tutorials. He is due to host a solo exhibition in January at the Dead Dog Gallery.

TRAPDOOR TO A FANTASTICAL COUNTY DURHAM

Creative drawing and some excellent sculpture making was produced alongside assemblage workshops with 3D scanning. All makes are to be incorporated in to a 3D gamified browser-based world (hosted on New Art City) Exhibition opening 28th March - more details to follow...
YEAR 12 ART & DESIGN EXHIBITION 🎨
On Friday 20th February, it's the turn of our Year 12s to showcase their fantastic work in the Visual Arts Centre. The Year 12 Art & Design Exhibition is open to parents, family and friends to visit from 4pm to 6pm, so please come along and show your support. A wide range of diverse, creative talent on show from five subjects: Art, Craft & Design, Fine Art, Graphics, Photography and Fashion & Textiles.
Also showing alongside the Year 12s is the Year 13 Product Design Exhibition, a fantastic display which showcases the student's innovative projects, original designs and prototypes.
YEAR 13 ART & DESIGN EXHIBITION 🎨
We are looking forward to our Year 13 Art Exhibition on Friday 30 January in the Visual Arts Centre. The exhibition is open to parents, family and friends from 4pm to 6pm. Please come along to show your support and enjoy the diverse creative talents of students across our five specialisms: Art, Craft & Design, Fine Art, Graphic Communication, Photography, and Fashion & Textiles.
You can also take the opportunity to view the opening night of our new exhibition, 'Teenage Angst Has Paid Off Well,' by current Artist-in-Residence Graham Dolphin, in the Dead Dog Gallery from 5pm.

Year 12 graphics pitch day comes again- this time to celebrate the amazing drinks brands created as part of a brief that required students to develop a brand name that uses negative connotations of the harmful properties of the drink- reflecting on the power of good design being able to sell a product even if it is bad for you.
LUMIERE PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT:📸
Durham Sixth Form Centre Arts students have teamed up with @artichoketrust the producers of #lumiere for a regional photography competition. As part of the project, students have been learning key skills to help produce an exhibition for the public.
