The storm did not just rage—it erased the sky. Even the stars were gone.
A lone sailor was thrown into the furious sea, ripped from the ship when the winds struck. In the chaos, his hand caught a line—a lifeline—, and he held on.
He held on as the waves battered him.
He held on as his strength drained and his grip slipped more than once.
He held on when darkness pressed in, and weariness begged him to let go.
But he refused.
Then, slowly, the storm loosened its grip. Light broke through. The waves that fought him began to carry him.
He was ashore.
He collapsed on the sand, breathing hard, as the sun warmed his face. And he smiled—alive.
This came to me yesterday, stirred by a song from the Maranatha Singers:
You are the lifeline… the Master of the waves… the mighty God who saves.
No matter how fierce the storm, hold on. Jesus Christ is your Lifeline—the One who commands the winds and the sea. The ANCHOR that goes beyond the veil.
You will not drown.
This May, may He send you a lifeline—and the grace to hold on...

EMERGENCE
Gasping and holding her neck, she shot up.
Like the coils of a boa constrictor, the bands of thick darkness strangled her and its tendrils flooded her nostrils.
In terror, her head turned from side to side. But the forces had banished illumination. The faintest glimmer of light was eternally out of sight.
Groping, she felt for the instrument that would transport her away from the Stygian present.
Though she couldn't see, the rope in her hand was coarse to the touch. Begging to be used, it pricked her flesh.
She sighed. With the sweetness of a siren song, the end called out to her without respite.
Her dream-boat had capsized and life's boat derailed. Now, she would bring her bottomed out world to a screeching halt.
Getting up, the rising murky waters in her room reached up to waist level.
Cold fingers of apprehension massaged her spine when she thought of the garotte biting into her throat.
But, she had gone past retreating. Unconsciously, her back stiffened and knuckles tightened around the rope with such ferocity they almost cracked.
Squashing the thought, she fumbled for her chair.
However, senses at full alert, she abruptly stopped and stood rock still.
She could have sworn a new sensation albeit an otherworldly one had gained entrance into her enclosure.
However, she wrote it off as a figment of her tortured mind.
Her hand encountered the smooth wooden frame of the chair, and she exhaled laboriously as two trails of tears forged a path on her face.
Stopping in her tracks again, this time, she knew it was real.
There was a stir in the room; a cool gust that blew the heated currents away.
The gust grew and became a strong wind that made the surface of the waters ripple.
Then…
Out of nowhere, a trumpting majestic voice pierced through the curtains of the aeons.
Light Be!!!
The voice exploded into an eruption of light, and the energy of it dried up the rising pools.
Suddenly she was bathed in an avalanche of light that made a million rainbows seem grey...
