Le Méridien Antalya Hotel Landscape Project
3/3
Designed for Antalya’s Konyaaltı coastline, the La Meridien Landscape Project brings architecture and nature together through climate-responsive planting, biophilic design, and sustainable water strategies. 🌿 By weaving open, semi-open, and vertical green systems into the hotel, the project transforms the guest experience into a living connection with nature.

Le Méridien Antalya Hotel Landscape Project
2/3 Bringing Nature Into Every Layer of the Hotel
This project weaves nature seamlessly into the hotel experience, blurring the boundaries between inside and outside. A series of thoughtfully designed green systems transform the building into a living landscape:
Floating planter modules in the atrium form lush vertical gardens that animate the space
Hanging green elements extend into guest rooms and terraces, creating a constant visual connection to nature
Layered rooftop gardens offer spaces for social interaction as well as moments of quiet retreat
Permeable paving and shaded green canopies in parking areas support natural water cycles and ecological balance
By combining vertical and horizontal landscape strategies, Le Méridien introduces a distinctive design language that enriches daily life and encourages a closer relationship with nature.

1/3 Design approach and Lobby
Inspired by the Mediterranean climate and the vibrant coastal character of Konyaaltı, the project aims to create a sustainable, climate responsive and aesthetically refined outdoor environment.
The design integrates climate adapted plant selection, permeable surfaces, sustainable water management, and biophilic design strategies.
Across all open and semi-open areas, the project establishes a natural, functional and visually balanced relationship between the architecture and its surroundings.
By enhancing the connection between users and nature, the design transforms the hotel experience into an immersive environmental journey.

Bozcaada Rammed Earth Workshop
The rammed earth technique represents one of the most contentious global applications of local resource utilization within architecture. This method entails the creation of an earthen mixture through the reuse of surplus fill earth, which is then poured and compacted between two mold surfaces, analogous to concrete formwork. The process necessitates a mechanical mallet equipped with specialized vibration capabilities and a very small pressing area for effective compaction.
Utilizing this technique, a five-day workshop was conducted for architecture students from Istanbul Technical University and Istanbul Bilgi University. The initiative was directed by Sevim Aslan, and the construction focused on a wall designed to emphasize the entrance of the property lot. The DOKA corporation supplied the metal molds employed in the construction of this wall. The project also received the moral support of Mine and Necati İnceoğlu.
Project Year: 2015
Workshop coordinator: Timur Erşen
Participants: Ali Arslan, Berk Tan, Gülşah Meral, Melis Dağ, Ozan Çalışkan, Serkan Ateş
Production assistants: Ali Aslan, Barış Bulut, Memo İnceoğlu
Pendik Public Garden transformed an old ytong and mine area into a vibrant city park, restoring damaged land and nature.
A natural pond forms through the land’s slope, creating a self-sustaining water ecosystem. The grove-covered hills invite walking, running, and resting, while themed spaces offer joy for all ages.
The park’s design harmonizes with the local culture, turning the old dynamite area into a children’s garden and the mine pit into a lake, adding new energy and life to the region.
