We’re excited to be hosting dry tooling sessions at the AC wall on Saturday January 17!
UGCC members get a huge discount if you sign up for the club only session from 1-3:30 pm. Sign up with the link in our bio! We will send the payment link with the discount to you after you’ve signed up.
There will also be a public/open session later in the day that ANYONE can attend for $30, be sure to pay for the AC day pass and sign the waiver for this time if you aren’t a climbing wall member already.
Basic safety, tool anatomy and instruction on tool usage, how to use the hold/movement will be taught to everyone who signs up!

What is Drytooling?
Drytooling is a form of mixed climbing (That’s a mix between rock and ice climbing) that is done on bare ice- and snow-free routes. The climber uses ice climbing axes and crampons to ascend outdoors but uses rock climbing equipment for protection. When done inside, the climber typically wears rubber climbing shoes. This is meant to simulate outdoor/competition style ice climbing!
What does the cost cover?
Staff coming in to set up routes, providing equipment and teach dry tooling techniques to members.
Do I need my own equipment?
No! All required equipment will be provided by the host of the event. However, if you have your own gear, you’re welcome to bring it.
Who can dry tool?
You can! Drytooling is for everyone, There will be routes for everyone and basic safety instructions provided!
