The rhythmic genius of Horacio “El Negro” Hernández 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don’t know how @elnegrodrumsofficial keeps this level of intensity, clarity, and feel at this tempo… but it’s unreal. His left foot is basically its own musician. 🏆
I first found Horacio “El Negro” Hernández on a @camilomichel CD I picked up in an old record shop around 2005. Triángulo. That album changed everything for me. Then the @modern_drummer DVD came along and I was gone. From there, he became one of the drummers who shaped how I hear time, melody, and movement.
Through him I discovered Anthony Jackson, John Patitucci, Los Hombres Calientes, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Roy Hargrove… a whole world of music that rewired my ear for good. ❤️
