Adisa's verses serve as a captivating exploration of his personal journey and the broader African diasporan narrative.

The Heads Up! event is presented in collaboration with the @thomas_crosbie_pace_foundation , an organisation whose work closely aligns with ours. Read below to find out who they are and what they stand for.
The Thomas Crosbie PACE Foundationis a grassroots youth and community-oriented organisation based in East London that was founded in 2016, in memory of Thomas Crosbie a.k.a PACE who took his own life the same year, aged 27.
To honour Thomasā legacy and his love for people, arts and sports, the foundation has two main aims:
- to promote young peopleās wellbeing through the arts and sport - providing opportunities for young people to create, express and perform and to access sports that can improve their wellbeing.
- to raise awareness of the mental health challenges facing young people and the available support - harnessing the vehicles of art and sport to open up the conversation on mental health and to highlight the large number of support organisations that do exist to help young people and adults
Their flagship event is the annual COLDFIRE festival which is held in Wennington Green, Mile End and attended by over 500 people every year. The festival features live performances, open mics, creative workshops and stalls from local sellers and support organisations. In line with their mission, it provides an opportunity for young artists to perform for a live audience as well as offering advice and information on suicide prevention and mental health support.
Support organisations that have attended the COLDFIRE festival include: Papyrus, The Listening Place, The Mix, Jamesā Place, Step Forward, CALM, Young Minds, CAMHS and others. Over the years they have had performances from local schools and youth groups including Morpeth School, Hackney Quest, Morningside and Mile End youth group and alongside more high profile performers such as Seb Rochford and Hak Baker.
By donating to our current JustGiving campaign (link in bio), youāll be supporting both organisations and helping bring this yearās festival to life on Saturday 4th July. Save the date and join in their 10-year anniversary celebrations!

As the weather is starting to change š®āšØ letās take our minds back to āļøāSummer with Barking & Dagenham Carnival 2025
Opening the Carnival in true style, @drum_works lit up the streets from Barking Station to the Town Hall stage with a powerful procession of beats, movement and joy! š„⨠Their energy was electric - the perfect way to kickstart a day of culture, connection and community.
But Drum Works is so much more than music. Their vision is to build a cohesive community where everyone is empowered to aim high, make positive choices and uplift others. ššŖ
Big love to the Drum Works family for leading the charge and setting the carnival off with heart, soul and serious drum power! š„ā¤ļø
