I took this photo in Portland during our US tour last year while listening to an early version of this track that @joshuarumble had sent over. In that moment, the visual and the music felt perfectly aligned.

I first wrote up the concept of âCan You Feel Itâ a few years ago, having the idea of the chorus from a Mr Fingers track of the same name. The whole track is worked around an 8 bar chord progression, adding layers to sections as it goes on, with the outro capturing the feeling of white noise, normally how my nights out ended in my twenties.
I recorded the demo on an iPad using GarageBand, later pulling up the file with Dru to take it up a level. We kept the demo vocals in to give it that feeling of authenticity, knowing I couldnât bring the same energy that was shared on the original take.
The track was written about reminiscing on nights out with friends prior to the 2020 government lockdown. It was a track in the back catalogue that we felt we needed to share with you all properly.

Inspired by sleep paralysis, a state during REM sleep where the body is unable to move but the mind remains aware. Widely reported experiences include shadowy figures and a strong sense of presence, often interpreted as paranormal or interdimensional.
This track shaped the foundation for the overall atmosphere for @mothlaketv
