MSU invests both in prominent weapons manufacturers and in aid to Israel. On April 10th, 19 MSU students and community members were arrested for protesting these investments, which amount to complicity in the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people.
To support the 19 arrestees, The Hurriya Coalition, a collective of student groups who oppose MSU’s enabling of Israel’s war crimes, is putting on a series of benefit concerts. Funds raised go toward the legal fees of the arrestees, the coalition’s operating expenses, and families in Palestine. At the concert on Saturday, generous donations from MSU students and East Lansing community members, along with sales of keffiyehs, posters, stickers and buttons raised more than $1,000.
