Ran into my cousin singing with The Dhoruba Collective at the farmers market (instantly knew her voice 😍), got pulled up to sing a little Badu, and just let it flow. Weeks like this, this is exactly what I needed. Closed it out with good eats & even better company at my fave vegan spot.

THIS ICON AWARD means a lot 😩🫶🏾 , I’m crying so bad! 17+ years. Countless sweat, tears, smiles, and laughs. Endless creativity, sacrifice, production, leadership, wins, lessons, and evolution.
This weekend was one of the most emotional and full-circle moments of my life. I was formally deemed an Icon in ballroom and now carry the name Icon Logik Tisci. On top of that, I was also deemed a Double Legend for my second category. To be acknowledged in this way by people I deeply respect within this culture honestly means more than words can fully explain.

I cried during this moment because it represented so much more than titles. It represented years of pouring into this scene, creating space, producing, mentoring, building, walking, storytelling, and loving this culture with everything I had.
Seeing the energy at the ball, the attendance, the excitement, the people who traveled to St. Louis some for the first time ever and others returning after years away was beautiful. From ALTBALL to the celebrations with the House of Tisci, this entire weekend reminded me how powerful ballroom community can be.
As I step into this next chapter, I also recognize that my relationship with ballroom is evolving. I may not move exactly the same way I once did producing and walking at the pace I used to but my passion for ballroom is far from over. I’m excited to continue through education, storytelling, film, documentary work, innovation, and blending ballroom with other art forms and creative spaces. I want to help preserve our stories while also creating room for myself and others to evolve beyond survival mode and into purpose.
Thank you to everyone who has supported, believed in, celebrated, challenged, taught, inspired, and loved me throughout this journey. This moment belongs to all of us.

To be in a room honoring 50 of St. Louis’ most influential Black creators, cultivators, advocates, and cultural leaders was inspiring in itself but seeing so many people I genuinely know, love, collaborate with, perform beside, and build community alongside being celebrated made the night even more meaningful.
From longtime friends, to fellow artists, to my own cofounder in community work, every acknowledgment was deeply deserved. So many people in that room have poured into the culture, created opportunities for others, and helped shape what STL looks and feels like today.
It was powerful to witness so much purpose, creativity, advocacy, and legacy all in one space. Truly grateful to have shared that moment and to continue being surrounded by people committed to elevating our communities and each other.
Congratulations to all of the honorees. Your flowers are deserved. 💐
