Should your wife be compensating for your masculine insecurities?
The âhusband stitchâ is often viewed as a manifestation of patriarchal attitudes in healthcare, perpetuating male insecurities at the expense of womenâs well-being.
This extra suture, ostensibly meant to âtightenâ a womanâs anatomy for her male partnerâs pleasure, disregards the womanâs own comfort and health.
Critics argue that it embodies a dated notion that a womanâs body exists primarily for male satisfaction, reinforcing harmful gender dynamics. Additionally, the practice often occurs without explicit consent, further diminishing a womanâs agency over her own body.
Overall, the âhusband stitchâ serves as a disturbing example of how deeply ingrained patriarchal attitudes can compromise even medical ethics and patient care.
A man making ridiculous demands over his wifeâs body, especially without her consent is exactly that, RIDICULOUS!

Endometriosis doesnât have a single cause.
Retrograde menstruation was the earliest theory â but it doesnât explain why some women develop severe disease (even outside the pelvis) while most donât.
The reality? Itâs multifactorial â with genetics, immune dysfunction, inflammation, and environmental triggers all playing a role.
We donât yet know the cause, but we do know how to diagnose and treat it.

Honored to be part of the international faculty for the Thai-German Multidisciplinary Endoscopic Workshop and RTCOG-SGMIS Joint Meeting 2026.
This week Iâll be teaching advanced cadaveric dissection focused on:
⢠Deep endometriosis surgery
⢠Bowel preparation
⢠Pelvic nerve identification
⢠Pelvic neurosurgery
⢠Vascular entrapments of the pelvic nerves
Also privileged to be delivering a keynote lecture on:
âSurgery for Deep Endometriosis and Vascular Entrapments of the Pelvic Nerves.â
Excited to share the stage with pioneers in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery from around the world.

Peritoneal endometriosis is often difficult to detect because the lesions are usually tiny, flat, and superficialâmaking them hard to identify on scans designed to detect larger structural changes like cysts or nodules.
Even during surgery, these subtle lesions can be missed if not actively searched for under magnification.
So when imaging appears normal, it does not mean the disease isnât realâit simply means this form of endometriosis can be exceptionally easy to overlook.

Not all cyclical pelvic pain is endometriosis.
Conditions like pelvic congestion syndrome and vascular entrapments can mimic endo symptoms â especially pain that worsens during ovulation or menstruation.
Always rule out vascular and nerve causes before assuming recurrence.

Stage IV endometriosis may slightly raise the risk for certain ovarian cancers â especially type I cancers â but the absolute risk remains very low.
The real difference lies in patient age and disease type, not just the stage.
Stay informed, monitored, and proactive.

Low AMH doesnât automatically mean poor fertility.
Fertility preservation can be considered if the ovaries are healthy and accessible â but AMH matters most only when IVF is being planned.
Each decision should be personalised â not driven by numbers alone.

Did you know a C-section can *cause* endometriosis?
Itâs called **scar endometriosis** â a rare but painful condition where endometrial tissue (the inner lining of the uterus) accidentally gets implanted into the abdominal wall during surgery. đŠş
This tissue responds to hormones just like it would inside the uterus. Over time, it can grow, bleed, and cause severe pain â especially around your C-section scar, typically during your period. Many women report a tender lump that swells and throbs cyclically, often dismissed or misdiagnosed for years. đ
Proper diagnosis is key. This isnât just âscar tissueâ â itâs **active endometriosis** that can deeply invade muscles and even affect nearby nerves. Treatment requires **precise surgical removal** â not just a quick excision â to prevent recurrence and preserve function.
If you or someone you know has persistent pain near a surgical scar that worsens with cycles, please donât ignore it. Ask about scar endometriosis. Awareness can change outcomes. đ

A successful endometriosis surgery isnât just what happens in the OR â itâs about proof, transparency, and follow-up. Ask for a recording of your surgery, review it with your surgeon, and track recovery through yearly imaging and symptom monitoring.
Even with expert excision, recurrence can happen â but risks are lower when done by specialists. What matters most is honesty, realistic expectations, and clear goals of treatment.

Endometriosis can make its own estrogen through the aromatase enzyme, turning other hormones into estrogen locally. This fuels inflammation and growth in a self-sustaining loop â one reason complete excision is often needed for long-term relief.
