As a 72 year old doctor I recognize it’s so important to speak out loud & clear with messages full of woman-to-woman encouragement. And I hope I can inspire you to live your best life every day. One suggested exercise: When you wake up go to the mirror, bare-face and maybe, like me, a bit messy. With a strong voice look in the mirror at the beautiful image in front of you. Tell yourself how you are your own best friend and worthy of unconditional love this and every day. #womenempowerment #womenover50 #womenover60

Do you do this in the mirror & wish you could get these kind of results without a surgical facelift? You probably can! I’ll share my own practice- & personal- results with you! I do a @juvederm Voluma Lift by injecting this thick filler into the hairline. It will lift cheeks and tighten jawline. I did this to myself 4 years ago and still have lasting results. Note: the procedure takes about 15-30 minutes and is a hyaluronic filler injection. Filler injection is generally preferable to surgery since you avoid anesthesia, pain, downtime, and scarring. Results should last at least two years. For me and many of my patients results last at least four years. #faceliftalternative

My advice about aging well: write your own script. Although I listen to experts advice on subjects like makeup and hair, I do what makes me feel most comfortable and self- confident instead of following others advice about how I should look at any age. Please❤️ this if you agree. I strongly recommend that you do the same no matter what your age. Please start today.

I’m a 73 year old dermatologist….showing my lines to help you prevent some of your own! UVA, the aging rays, come right through window glass. Even tinted car windows allow UVA in. Since UVA is next to visible light in the solar spectrum, if you can see through your car windows, UVA is coming through. We didn’t have UVA protective sunscreen when I was in my 20’s and early 30s. For that matter, we didn’t even fully understand the damage caused by UVA at that time. So let’s focus on my lines to help you prevent some of yours…. Take a look at the deeper, more abundant lines on the driver’s side around my eyes compared to the other/right side of my face. Here’s my message…. We don’t have too many easy, clear cut ways to prevent unwanted aging changes…but wearing UVA/IVB protective sunscreen if you’ll be driving or even sitting by a window is one. I hope you’ll do it. 🤞 #womenover40 #womenover50 #sunprotection

Today, I’m celebrating my 73rd birthday! One thing I get a kick out of always is the joy and beauty and absolute privilege in aging. I also am fascinated by the power of skin care and how confident I feel with my own skincare brand @drloretta I’ve been a dermatologist for over 40 years now. When I was even younger at 40 years old, I started to formulate skincare. I had studied percutaneous absorption, solar radiation and got to work with Dr. Thomas Fitzpatrick all during medical school and residency in the 1970s. I continue to be passionate about the science and the beauty in taking care of my skin. So here, I did what I find thrilling and a really easy at home experiment or challenge for 10 days. I usually apply my skincare to my face, neck, and hands. I applied these products to just my left arm to see how much of a difference it would make. I’m really pleased with the results! All products I used are tagged in this video. Will you try this at home with the products you’re using already? Let me know!

Turning 73 next week…and growing my sense of self worth. Here’s what’s worked for me: Not comparing myself to others, not even my 40 year old self. But instead looking forward & truly focusing on being the very best human being that I can be. Thanks to my wonderful family & friends who help me either with their support or by helping me to help them. #selfworth #womenover50 #womenover60

I’ve been a dermatologist for over 40 years. For many years I taught young dermatology residents in the cosmetic dermatology clinic at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. The first thing I’d teach is that we are all much too critical of our appearance, and in the case of this clinic, of our facial flaws. Here’s my advice that is just as true today as it was a couple of decades ago when I was teaching; Don’t look in the magnifying mirror except to do precision makeup application like eyeliner. When we look in the mirror, stand at arms length from it to have the most accurate indication of how others see us since it is only an in intimate situations that other others get any closer than arms length from us. Those who love us should be accepting of any little dings in our faces! And then, as I learned myself after my own seven decades of life, please remember this…. A line is fine! A spot is just a dot! Self love and the journey it may take us to achieve it is one of the most treasured gifts we can give ourselves. #cosmeticdermatologist #womenover40 #womenover50 #womenover60

My hands & face look considerably younger than my age (I turn 73 this month). I’m a skincare brand-founder and faithfully apply products to my face & hands. Is this the reason for my youthful skin? Or…. Could I just have good genes? Absolutely not the case! And to prove it, unfortunately my arms, where I don’t apply any residue of my skincare products as I do my hands, look much older that my hands. So I’m trying to correct this. After admittedly decades of less attention paid to my arms!! I’m starting to apply this skincare to my arms. After at most 6 weeks I’ll show my follow-up arm photo. I’m confident I can reverse a lot of the aging changes you see on the photo at the end of this reel. To clue you in, here’s my regimen for my hands that I’m starting today to use on my arms as well: 3 times a week: apply @drloretta Micro-Peel Peptide Pads AM & PM: apply the residue left on my palms after applying the next 2 products to my face. I will now apply a bit extra to my arms: @drloretta Intense Replenishing Serum and @drloretta Antioxidant Repair Serum Bedtime only: @drloretta Tightening Detox Mask #womenover40 #womenover50 #womenover60 #handcare

I’m a dermatologist and these are the two reasons why I stopped doing a gel manicure 1) My solar lentigo, a.k.a. age spot, that I’ve had for more than a decade darkened considerably within six months of getting a gel manicure every 2 to 3 weeks. I stopped the gel three months ago, and the dark spot has receded to the color it had been for the past decade. If I ever do a gel manicure again, it will only be with UPF 50 manicure gloves on The reason for this is that the light for the gel contains what has been deemed a “safe level” of UVA light. U.VA are the rays that age skin & cause hyper pigmentation so there is no need for us to expose our skin to these rays on any habitual schedule. 2)I’ve discovered that a brand of nail polish @rimmellondon on Amazon. I had been able to purchase it at a pharmacy in Italy this brand dries within 60 seconds and the application brush is wide enough so that it covers my entire nail in in just one pass. I sincerely hope that my sharing my own experience and expertise will be helpful to you. 💗
