Live from Washington University in St Louis for the graduation events of my biological daughter, my last child.
My dearest daughter,
Today, we celebrate not only your graduation from Washington University in St. Louis, Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, but the remarkable journey that brought you to this moment. Earning a degree in Communication Design, along with minors in Human-Computer Interaction and Art History, reflects your creativity, intelligence, discipline, and vision for the future.
You chose a path that combines art, technology, communication, and human experience. That is not a simple achievement. It takes imagination to create, wisdom to understand people, and courage to think differently. Through every project, critique, presentation, and challenge, you continued to grow into a thoughtful and gifted young woman with a unique voice and perspective.
We have watched you develop the ability not only to design beautifully, but to communicate meaningfully, think critically, and understand how people interact with the world around them. Your studies in Human-Computer Interaction show your ability to merge creativity with innovation and practical impact, while Art History reflects your appreciation for culture, depth, storytelling, and timeless expression. Together, these accomplishments reveal a well-rounded mind prepared to shape the future in powerful ways.
More than your academic success, we are proud of your character. Your humility, resilience, kindness, and determination inspire us deeply. Degrees and accomplishments matter, but the woman you have become matters even more.
As you step into this next season of life, remember that your gifts were given for a purpose. Never underestimate the influence your creativity, insight, and vision can have on the world. Continue to dream boldly, walk confidently, and trust God’s direction for your life.
Congratulations on this incredible achievement. You have made us proud beyond words, and we are excited to watch you build, create, inspire, and flourish in all that lies ahead.
With all our love and pride,
Dad & Mom
