✨ It all starts with a conversation.
Because you are not the same person you were last month — and your care shouldn’t be either. Every session at The Den begins with a genuine check-in, because your body is dynamic, ever-changing, and deserves to be met exactly where it is today.
What you need on Tuesday may look entirely different by Friday. We are here for all of it.
And if you’re ready to go deeper — Dr. Jess and our naturopathic medicine offerings are here to help you understand the full picture of your health, from the inside out.
This is what truly personalized care feels like. 🌿

It’s interesting? strange? concerning?!!! that IVF is encouraged before we are even asking about people’s lifestyle habits, assessing nutrients and progesterone levels or investigating pelvic pain further.
If these things can actually improve fertility and IVF outcomes, wouldn’t assessing and optimizing these markers be a priority…to lessen the time of loss, grief, confusion and MONEY spent?
Just something to think about 😳

PCOS is one of the most misunderstood conditions we see in practice. Not because it’s uncommon, but because the approach is often too generalized or missing the mark entirely.
If you’ve just been diagnosed with PCOS and you’re feeling stuck or unsure where to go next, here’s where we would start.
You don’t have to figure it out on your own - that’s why we’re here. Join us for more PCOS support, guidance, and community 💛

As an ND who treats and focuses on Endo, a multidisciplinary team is essential for the best outcomes. This means a well-versed gynecologist/surgeon, naturopathic doctor, acupuncturist, pelvic floor physios, other specialists depending on organs involved, therapists etc.
Hopefully people will find this helpful to connect with others with endo and practitioners that might just be the support you need on your journey.

You shouldn’t have to heal alone 🌸
We’re two naturopathic doctors (and best friends) who kept seeing the same thing — people with PCOS drowning in conflicting information online, feeling overwhelmed, and doing it all by themselves.
So we created The PCOS Circle. A space to heal in community where we’ll be covering all things PCOS form a holistic and evidence informed perspective.
About 71% of people with PCOS report feelings of loneliness, struggling to find others who truly understand what they’re going through.
PCOS can feel like a lonely battle, but it doesn’t have to be. By connecting with others who understand your struggles, you can find the support, encouragement, and knowledge you need to manage your condition and thrive.
Follow along to learn more about the first cohort 💕 we are so glad you’re here!
Is it truly “unexplained infertility”?
Whether my patients have pelvic pain/period pain, challenges with fertility is enough of a reason to get some further investigations for endometriosis and look at treatments that can help to support.
With the stats, I wonder why we aren’t looking into endometriosis more before recommending IVF when endometriosis can impact IVF success (and IVF is not cheap). I have my thoughts 🙃
So many of our patients come in thinking period pain is just because of their PCOS, even though it’s actually not a characteristic symptom.

Some people are dismissed because their scans look normal or their pain isn’t “severe enough.”
In reality, endometriosis can show up in many different ways including symptoms that don’t seem obviously gynecological (another reason many great endometriosis specialists understand the importance of a collaborative team with various specialists and therapies onboard).
Things like infertility, persistent bloating, digestive symptoms around your cycle, consistent iron deficiency or ongoing fatigue can be dismissed as “unexplained” because everything looks “normal.
With endometriosis oftentimes hiding from routine imaging, many people spend years searching for answers.
If something feels off in your body, it’s worth exploring further. It might take a second or third or fourth opinion, some self-advocacy (which I know can be exhausting), and a solid integrative medical team behind you.
If you’re in BC or Ontario I’d love to help support you on this journey whether you are struggling to conceive, have been diagnosed with endometriosis or are not getting answers for your pelvic pain.

We often get asked if intermittent fasting is helpful for managing PCOS, and here’s our take:
For many with PCOS, intermittent fasting can actually make symptoms worse. That said, certain forms of fasting can be helpful for some.
We emphasize an individualized approach to nutrition and this topic is no exception. Understanding your symptoms and your body’s unique needs will determine what approach is best for you.
