@ruthlewski
What started out as a casual relationship based on a cross-industry collaboration has become one of my most treasured friendships in the world. I am thankful to have Evan Lewandowski in my life for so many reasons, far beyond the fact that he is the head winemaker for VISUALS. Legitimately one of the most fun and funniest people I've ever met, Evan is a both a great man and a visionary of American natural wine.
@idlewildwines
Sam Bilbro of Idlewild Wines is very close with Evan, both personally and professionally, and that has lead to us becoming close. From the moment we first met, it was very evident that Sam and Evan worked collaboratively, despite them having fairly divergent winemaking philosophies. My respect for him as a vineyard owner, winemaker, father and friend runs deep, and I authentically consider him a mentor.
@marthastoumen
Of all of the folks in our Sonoma "family", Martha was the one that I was most intimidated by. This is likely due to the fact that my wife, Anneliesse, had a borderline obsession with her prior to ever meeting her. This built Martha up in my head as a larger than life figure, but, unsurprisingly, she is as sweet and approachable as anyone I've met in the industry.
@reevewines
Noah Dorrance of Reeve Wines feels like a man cut from the same cloth as me...and it's not just the long hair. His Bloodroot brand very much sounds like something I would have created, and our shared passion for music runs so deep that we can't help but weave it into our professional lives. His music and wine festival, The Ramble, has featured bands such as Spoon, Local Natives, Ziggy Marley, La Luz, and The Nude Party.
@rymecellars
Ryan and Megan Glaab of Ryme Cellars might legitimately be the sweetest people on earth. Of all the compliments I could give them about their winemaking, hosting, cooking and partying capabilities, the thing that I most admire about them is their uncanny ability to foster the most familial employer/employee dynamic I've ever witnessed.
