Meaningful friendships with like-minded makers. Get to know our Sonoma guests attending the Hallowedland Wine Festival, in the words of @timperialstout . Link in bio for tix. @ruthlewski What started out as a casual relationship based on a cross-industry collaboration has become one of my most treasured friendships in the world. I am thankful to have Evan Lewandowski in my life for so many reasons, far beyond the fact that he is the head winemaker for VISUALS. Legitimately one of the most fun and funniest people I've ever met, Evan is a both a great man and a visionary of American natural wine. @idlewildwines Sam Bilbro of Idlewild Wines is very close with Evan, both personally and professionally, and that has lead to us becoming close. From the moment we first met, it was very evident that Sam and Evan worked collaboratively, despite them having fairly divergent winemaking philosophies. My respect for him as a vineyard owner, winemaker, father and friend runs deep, and I authentically consider him a mentor. @marthastoumen Of all of the folks in our Sonoma "family", Martha was the one that I was most intimidated by. This is likely due to the fact that my wife, Anneliesse, had a borderline obsession with her prior to ever meeting her. This built Martha up in my head as a larger than life figure, but, unsurprisingly, she is as sweet and approachable as anyone I've met in the industry. @reevewines Noah Dorrance of Reeve Wines feels like a man cut from the same cloth as me...and it's not just the long hair. His Bloodroot brand very much sounds like something I would have created, and our shared passion for music runs so deep that we can't help but weave it into our professional lives. His music and wine festival, The Ramble, has featured bands such as Spoon, Local Natives, Ziggy Marley, La Luz, and The Nude Party. @rymecellars Ryan and Megan Glaab of Ryme Cellars might legitimately be the sweetest people on earth. Of all the compliments I could give them about their winemaking, hosting, cooking and partying capabilities, the thing that I most admire about them is their uncanny ability to foster the most familial employer/employee dynamic I've ever witnessed.

After a brief cold snap, Spring has returned to the South Slope. We’ve got a killer little Thursday evening for you. We’re open with our new weekly hours for the season. And our seasonal cocktail menu is ready for your enjoyment. Pictured here is, ‘Primavera’, our Caprese-inspired Martini. Fittingly, the @burialsouthslope Kitchen is hosting a full Italian Eats takeover just next door. Snag some Eggplant Parm or Shrimp Scampi and enjoy it up on the roof. This evening, @eulogyavl is hosting the VISUALS Ritual of Senses Spring Equinox Celebration. Enjoy a free performance by some incredibly talented musicians, capped off by a Cassette Release by @walkerfarrell . Where else do you have to be tonight? Thought so.

Allow us to transport you to the rolling hills, rugged coastline, and vineyard-covered valleys of Sonoma. Join us on Friday, April 3rd as we host some of our closest friends and favorite winemakers from the West Coast for a very special Wine Pairing Dinner here at Forestry Camp. This is an a-la-carte event, with no reservations or tickets necessary. Roll through and explore what our Kitchen Crew has dreamt up, to pair beautifully with selections by: @idlewildwines@marthastoumen@reevewines@ruthlewski@ryme_cellars The winemakers will be joining us in-person to discuss the vision and ethos behind their varietals. Don't miss an intimate opportunity to meet some of the most talented and inspirational makers in the country. This dinner serves as the kickoff for our first-ever Wine Festival. Join us the following day, on Saturday, April 4th for Hallowedland. Hosted at the @drinkvisuals Rooftop Bar on the South Slope, attendees will enjoy unlimited wine sampling in a take-home glass, an oyster bar pop-up, and free entry into that evening's @eulogyavl show, a vinyl release for AVL-based psychedelic indie rock group, @thegetrightband . No tickets necessary for the Sacred Sonoma Wine Dinner. Tickets for the Hallowedland Wine Festival are available at the link in our bio.

On Thursday, March 19th, we will yet again celebrate the change in season with a ritual for the senses. @eulogyavl will host our ongoing tradition, 3+ years strong, of pairing VISUALS wine with the music of Asheville’s most visionary experimentalists. • The Spring edition features the playful, jazz inspired sound world of synthesist @walkerfarrell , and simultaneously acts as a preview party for his upcoming tape, “Crocus”. • Walker Farrell’s formative music experience was nightly sessions in bed with a cassette tape of Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, provided by his parents as a way to keep his chronically insomniac mind occupied. The many inventive melodic lines on the tape, especially John Coltrane’s bold entrance on “So What,” soundtracked imaginary movies in his head. With Crocus, Walker scores a new imaginary film, a sonic depiction of the first 24 hours of spring as experienced by a 1/8” tall garden dweller. Taking structural, musical, and spiritual guidance from many different moments in the artistic life of John Coltrane, Crocus is a celebration of the complexity and beauty of life as it boldly returns to triumph over the death and desolation of winter. We are extremely excited to help usher this new work into the world. To listen, follow link in bio. • Limited edition cassettes will be available at the show courtesy of @ceremonyofseasons , in addition to a new aperitif wine formulated in collaboration with Walker called VISUALS Like A Thick Tapestry of Motion. • @tony_rolando , Sarah Louise and @the_forestfloor will join the ritual in support. The concept of terroir is one synonymous with wine, representing a sensory experience with a distinct sense of place in time. This is the sonic equivalent, focusing explicitly on the surprisingly rich abstract sound art scene in this endlessly impressive mountain bastion of creativity we call home. • This is a free show and free wine samples will be available. Link to RSVP in bio. Walker Farrell and Spring are both worth celebrating. See you there.
