When you received a bootle of Cristal, it has a gold wrapping, what is it really for ?
Cristal’s gold wrapping has historic roots — in the 19th century, a system of color-coding was used to signify a Champagne’s quality. Unsurprisingly, gold was used to denote the highest prestige. But there’s a scientific reason for this wrapping, too. The shiny cellophane is actually anti-UV, which protects the clear-bottled wine from damaging sun rays that can quickly cook a wine.🍾🍾🍾🍾
It created the most expensive bottle of wine never sold.
Chateau Margaux 1787, a bottle from Thomas Jefferson’s collection, could have been the most expensive bottle ever sold( valued at $500,000). But when a wine merchant named William Sokolin brought the bottle to a Margaux dinner at the Four Seasons hotel in NY in 1989, a server knocked the bottle over. The bottle eventually claimed $225,000 from insurers. #chateau # Margaux# since 1855#bordeaux #france #cabernet Sauvignon blends#
What is the white floating stuff in my white ?
All wine will naturally have a combination of dead yeast cells bits of grapes and seeds, and likes tartrates and polymers.
The reason that you didn’t find large quantities of this solid matter in every wine that you drink is because of choices that the wine marker has made in the production of the wine.
Removing the sediment is called fining which involves adding agents to the wine that will bind to solid matter which can then be filtered out. Other winemaker may choose to skip filtering and fining, leaving more sediment in the wine.
The older the wine , the more likely you are to find sediment in the bottle. The sediment isn’t harmful. In the end , the choice is up to you, you can drink up or take steps to filter as needed.😋
Sena 2015….. 😋😋😋

Soils mixing weathered volcanic material and gravels, were free draining and perfect for Cabernet.🍷
