🏆 GOLD FOR GEIST UNCLE DUNKEL 🏆
Last year, Geist Brewing Co. became the first Indian brewery to win at the European Beer Star with a Silver. This year, we’ve gone one better 💪
Geist Uncle Dunkel—our Bavarian–style Dark Wheat Beer—has been awarded Gold in the South German Style Hefeweizen Dunkel category at the European Beer Star Awards 2025 in Munich.
This is a category historically dominated by German breweries — won for the very first time by an Indian brewery. For a beer brewed in Bangalore to be celebrated in Germany, the birthplace of this style and the heart of global brewing culture, is an achievement we’ll cherish forever.
This year’s competition saw more than 2,200 beers from around the world entered across 74 categories. Over 150 international experts — from master brewers to beer sommeliers and trade journalists — tasted and evaluated the entries in a blind format, focusing solely on appearance, aroma, taste, and style-true character. Only the top three beers in each category earned a medal, making the European Beer Star one of the most rigorous and respected beer competitions in the world.
That’s why this recognition means so much. For Vidya, our Head Brewer who trained in Munich, seeing Uncle Dunkel win in the birthplace of the style is a full-circle moment. For Narayan, who dreamt of putting Bangalore on the global beer map, it feels surreal to stand in Germany and watch our beer win Gold.
But above all, this Gold belongs to our entire team: the Brewers who craft every batch with care, the Lab team ensuring consistency, the engineers who keep the brewery running, the Logistics and Dispatch teams who get the beer out the door, our Brand Marketing and Sales & Marketing teams who take our story and beers out into the world, our Hospitality team who bring the beer to your tables, our HR & Admin teams who keep everything together behind the scenes, and our Finance team who keeps us grounded and growing. Every part of Geist Brewing Co. has a hand in this win.
So here’s to Geist Uncle Dunkel, to Bangalore, and to showing the world what Indian craft beer can do ✨

One of the most fascinating things about mangoes in India is how specific people become about them.
Not just the cultivar, but the district, the orchard, the season — sometimes even the family selling them.
Some people wait all year for Himsagar because “nothing else tastes the same.” Some refuse to blend Alphonso aamras because hand-squeezing changes the texture. Some know summer has officially begun only when aam ki launji appears on the table.
The deeper we went while researching this menu, the more we realised we weren’t studying mangoes anymore.
We were studying memory, ritual, regional pride, and the emotional seriousness with which Indians discuss fruit.
In this video, Chef Altaf (@chefaltafpatel ) walks through that journey — from the Kayastha kitchens of Old Delhi to CKP homes in Maharashtra, from Kolkata’s short-lived Himsagar season to the Lingayat traditions of North Karnataka.
And somewhere along the way, The Mango Archive found its place at the Geist Brewing Co. table.
Now live across all Geist Brewing Co. locations for the summer 🥭

Everyone says, “It’s not rocket science,” as shorthand for something simple. This lecture begins by taking that phrase seriously. Because rocket science today is not just science. It is economics, manufacturing, geopolitics, national ambition, and public imagination compressed into a machine trying to leave Earth.
India’s space story is often narrated as a triumph of frugality. A nation with limited resources built rockets that reached the Moon, Mars, and beyond. The PSLV became a symbol of engineering restraint turned into ambition, carrying satellites for India and for the world. But the global space race has changed. SpaceX transformed launch economics through reusable rockets. China emerged as a manufacturing powerhouse with rapidly expanding space ambitions.
In this new landscape, what matters more: low cost or sheer capability? Efficiency or scale? Frugality or horsepower?
In this lecture, space writer and journalist Jatan Mehta explores the economics and sociology of modern space transportation systems and examines where India truly stands in the changing global space order.

You know that feeling when the first sip makes you realise you picked the right beer.
That’s Geist Witty Wit.
Brewed in the style of a Belgian-style Witbier, it is bright with citrus, gently spiced with coriander, and balanced with a soft wheat tartness that keeps it clean, crisp, and endlessly refreshing.
Easy to drink, easy to return to, and best enjoyed on slow afternoons, over good meals, and in the kind of company that makes you stay for one more round.
Available in 500 ml cans across Bangalore, Kolkata, Kerala, and Pondicherry 🍻

Every summer in India comes with mangoes.
But somehow, no two homes ever speak about them the same way.
Some know Himsagar season has arrived before the calendar does. In some homes, Ratnagiri vs Devgad is still a very real debate at the dining table. Some kitchens start making aam ki launji the moment the heat sets in. Some meals end with chilled mango payasam made from Badami mangoes grown in black cotton soil.
The Mango Archive came from these conversations.
From memories of what was eaten, how it was served, what it was paired with, and who made it every year without fail.
This menu travels through four cities, four cultivars, and four communities — from Purani Dilli Kayastha kitchens and Bonedi Bari tables in Kolkata, to CKP homes in Maharashtra and Lingayat traditions in North Karnataka.
We weren’t trying to recreate these dishes exactly as they’ve always existed.
It was more about holding onto the feeling behind them — and seeing what they could become at Geist Brewing Co.
Sometimes that meant keeping things familiar.
Sometimes it meant taking a memory and looking at it through our kitchen, our brewery, and the way we like to gather around food and beer.
The Mango Archive is now live across all Geist Brewing Co. locations 🥭

Some memories stay with you through flavours.
For our bartender Darshan (@darshan_raj007 ), it’s the taste of warm halasina kadubu, the smell of jackfruit steaming in the kitchen, and jaggery slowly melting away during harvest season back home in Tulunadu and Malnad.
And for World Cocktail Day, he wanted to bring a bit of that memory into a drink.
The Kadubu Spice Mary combines bourbon, jackfruit & jaggery reduction, coconut milk fat-wash, bitters, and toasted coconut — familiar flavours reworked into something a little unexpected, but still comforting in the same way.
Along with a few other specials created by our bartenders, this cocktail is part of a World Cocktail Day menu inspired by personal stories, regional influences, and contemporary cocktail craft.
Available for a limited time across all Geist Brewing Co. locations.

There was a time when lunch breaks actually felt like breaks.
Steel trays on train journeys. Quick meals between long distances. Hot food arriving with surprising efficiency. Thirty minutes of pause before life resumed again.
Somewhere along the way, lunch became a meeting between meetings.
A quick bite at your desk.
Or a calendar slot you kept postponing.
So we built something around the opposite idea.
Express Lunch at Geist Brewing Co. is a structured 3-course lunch designed for workdays that move quickly — without making lunch itself feel rushed.
Pick your small plates, mains, desserts or mocktails.
A meal that’s efficient enough for the middle of the day, but satisfying enough to feel like a proper break.
Now serving Monday–Thursday
12 PM – 3:30 PM
Plan ahead if you’d like.
Or simply walk in when the day calls for a better lunch.
Because sometimes, the most productive thing in your day is logging out for lunch.
📍Available at all Geist Brewing Co. Locations.

Mango-ing absolutely feral over this one. 🥭
We’re not just riding the mango wave. We’re digging through its archives.
Over the last few weeks, we went back to the source: the communities, the cultivars, the regions, the rituals — to understand what this fruit actually means to the people who’ve lived with it for centuries.
What came out of that is something we’re calling The Mango Archive.
The team’s been tasting through the lineup and honestly… we’re a little too excited about this one.
Coming soon.
13th May onwards across all Geist Brewing Co. locations.

There’s a certain honesty to a good ghee roast. It doesn’t try to balance itself out or tone things down — it’s meant to be rich, layered, and a little intense.
We kept that exactly where it is, and let it move a little differently.
Young jackfruit, cooked slow in that same bold masala, until it soaks it all in — every bit of heat, every layer of depth. Brought together in a soft taco with raw mango, pickled carrots, onions and a light touch of mint mayo, just enough to lift without getting in the way.
It still hits the way a ghee roast should. Just a little softer on the outside, a little more interesting once you get into it.

For our fifth anniversary, we did what any self-respecting F&B agency would do: Yamini got custom beers for friends and family of our favorite @drinkgeist Rauch-a-Fella, the Franconia-style smoked wheat beer that’s already won Silver at the European Beer Star.
We worked with the brilliant @serenachughstudio to give it an Outlier label and if you look closely, you’ll find easter eggs: cherry blossom trees, auto-rickshaws, and yes, Enzo and Kyro made the cut.
It’s Bangalore. It’s us. It’s five years in a can.

Good food always has a story behind it.
A corn rib that comes from a memory of butta on a Darjeeling hillside.
Pork ribs that started with a simple thought — what happens if we braise them with Geist Uncle Dunkel instead of stock?
Meatballs that travelled from a Spanish tavern to a Bangalore kitchen, picking up a little more spice along the way.
Made with time, curiosity, and a few good ideas along the way.
Just food that’s always — always — worth coming back for 🍻
