This is my attempt to be better about promoting my art. I’m nearing the finish line on a project that’s been in the works off and on over the past few years. I lost the desire to create for an extended period because it didn’t feel meaningful anymore. I didn’t want what I was doing to feed my ego. I wanted it matter to me a decade plus from now. I wanted to make music I’d want to listen to even if no one else did. As the title implies, this is a glimpse into my internal dialogue. It took me a while but I’m really excited about what it’s becoming! Every track was produced by @bxmbz . Majority of the mixing and mastering is done by @nohokai.productions , one track by @ohtorobeats , and another by @zachmanzano , who also created this surreal cover art! I’ll set an official release date soon. It’s already years late so why rush things now?
“Stumbled” onto another ancient artifact. I thought this was long lost to the abyss. Wrote this during such a fucked up point in my life I don’t actually remember writing any of it. So it’s kinda weird hearing it back like it’s a song I’ve never heard before. I only remembered it existed at all after I randomly scrolled to a post promoting it on my music page years ago. Tried tracking it down, and to my knowledge this is the only place it exists anymore. I’m not mad at it at all. In fact I really wish I kept in touch with the guy who produced it cuz I don’t think I fully appreciated how incredibly talented he is! He used to go by DJ Kesh to give credit where it’s due. But idk if he’s still making music or what he calls himself these days if he is. Tiles like these I’m so grateful time can be captured in this way.
Something different than my usual. Not pau, just for now. Thanks for enduring this one @jyricq ! Next session we’ll be blending it into the existing piece below. And I realized after looking at the picture I gotta add a few details I missed. Long sessions I’m just not used to anymore. But back to enjoying the craft!

🤯 From the fucking archives!!! I typically cringe hearing stuff I recorded years ago. There’s definitely a lot I would’ve done differently now, but listening back I remembered everything I was feeling and experiencing when I wrote this. It was equal parts refreshing and depressing. I don’t even where else this song exists anymore! DJ Kesh made this fire ass beat! I’ve since lost contact with him and have no idea if he’s on IG or is still producing music (if someone knows, please put me in touch!). Tried looking on SoundCloud where this was originally released and it’s gone (probably due to the sampling which I doubt got cleared for use at the time). This has to be at least 10 years old though. Perfectly embodies the reason I keep coming back to music. It’s my personal time capsule. It’s for me. For my kids. It’s my space to honest with myself while disguising it just enough to feel comfortable with it. This was that!
Over 20 months since my last portrait tattoo. Took a little while to find the rhythm again. I really missed doing this though! He laid there like a stone the whole time too! So thankful for people who trust me to memorialize the face of a loved one on them.
It’s all flooding in waves at a time. The memories hurt and enrich me simultaneously. You were at the center of the musical universe to me. Everything happened around or through you. A pillar in the music scene that built countless bridges still standing long after. You brought so many of the best people into my life. I got to experience so much of what made my life incredible only because I met you, and for whatever reason you decided to be my friend. I wish I was there more toward the end. I wish I made time. Not to make this about me but I have to say that part out loud. I’ll never forgive myself for it. But I’m happy I got to tell you thank you and I love you face to face one last time. I’ll never stop wondering what you might’ve said back had I gotten there sooner. I love you Brandon. Thank you for everything. Can’t wait for our next adventure.
