Drexel Robotics was back at it last weekend, checking out the FIRST Robotics Mid-Atlantic (@firstmidatl ) competition at Bensalem Township High School and seeing how high school students are applying mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering concepts to their robots. How impressive to witness these engineers (and maybe future Dragons?) at work.
Two weekends. Dozens of teams. One mission. 🤖
Drexel Robotics has been on the floor at FIRST Mid-Atlantic District events, mentoring high schoolers in mechatronics, computer vision, coding, and sensing. The same skills that power careers in engineering and computing at Drexel.
We're especially proud to support both veteran and rookie teams, mentored by our very own Drexel Engineering students. 💙
🎓 FIRST Robotics alum? You could be eligible for up to $8,000/year in scholarships at Drexel. Get in touch with us through our website for more information!
The future is built around robotics, computing, and engineering, and we want you to help build it.

Hubo went on the road with @drexelrobots to @firstmidatl FRC Week 1 at #hatboro! Great to connect with so many people interested in robotics at @drexeluniv ! #firstroboticscompetition
Robot in 3 Days is a hackathon-style robotics event with food fun, and frantic robotics condensed into a 3-day extravaganza! You do not have to be there for the entire competition. All skill levels welcome, join us!!
Join Drexel Robotics for LEGO Battle Bots!
Team up with other students to design, build, and battle your own LEGO robots in a friendly competition. Come join Drexel Robotics to have fun with battle bots, learn about our club, the competitions we compete in, and how to get involved!
Last week, Drexel Robotics traveled to the University of Central Florida to compete in the NASA Lunabotics Competition! The team successfully built a prototype lunar construction robot that collected and moved simulated moon dust. The team created a berm with a volume of 17,637 cm³ and earned a national ranking of 19th, the highest placement in the club’s history.
The Drexel Robotics team was proudly represented by Mohammad AbuZetun, Eli Krantz, Donovan Dolan, Joseph Loeffler, and Eashan Gallage, under the guidance of Dr. Arvin Ebrahimkhanlou.
Congratulations to the entire team on this incredible achievement!

Drexel’s NASA Lunabotics team made an incredible debut at the University of Central Florida, competing in a national competition against 46 other teams! Despite the challenge of rebuilding their entire robot from luggage bags and racing against the clock, the team was thrilled to be one of only 15 teams to traverse the arena and scoop regolith autonomously. This amazing feat was made possible thanks to a small but dedicated team focused on autonomy and the mentorship of their faculty advisor, Dr. Arvin Ebrahimkhanlou.
The competition introduced the team to many discoveries and challenges, which they are excited to tackle and improve upon for next year. They always seek passionate and talented students from all majors to join and contribute their unique skills and expertise.
Interested in being part of their journey? Follow @lunabotics_drexel for updates and more information, or reach out to [email protected], the current team president. With your help, they can reach for the stars!
As our season comes an end we wanted to highlight our achievements this year. As a second year organization we were able to go to the UCF Lunabotics Competition and place 29th/47th. We are proud of our accomplishments and we wish all of the Lunabotics Seniors the best in their future endeavors. See you next year!
