Calling all School District of Philadelphia Dance Teachers!
Drexel University is launching the first Post-Bac program in Dance to become a certified dance teacher in the state of Pennsylvania.
Through the teacher residency program, dance educators participate in an accelerated learning model, allowing them to complete state-required coursework while teaching in a K-12 dance setting. Residents are carefully selected and paired with experienced mentor teachers to deepen their understanding of all aspects of teaching, including lesson planning, classroom management, and more.
While our first cohort is designed for current dance teachers in the School District of Philadelphia, we welcome all interested in K-12 dance education in Pennsylvania to reach out about joining future cohorts.
Applications due by May 1st to begin this Summer 2026
