I didnât expect to be making such a statement in my first race back after 9 months without racing. Training has been going well, but I didnât think it was going this well. After taking time completely away from triathlon at the end of last year, my main goal for training this winter was to keep training fun and enjoy the process of getting back into shape.
Safe to say I have accomplished those goals. Iâm in the best headspace Iâve been in a really long time and while the result from St. Anthonyâs this past weekend was stellar, thatâs not the part Iâm the most proud of. I proved to myself I still have a place in triathlon as an athlete, but more importantly, a competitor.
A big thank you needs to go out to all the people who believed in me even when things werenât going well. This wouldnât have been possible without you all!
Next up âĄď¸ Chattanooga 70.3
P18 at Gulf Coast 70.3
A lot of positives to come away with and a lot of areas to improve on. Ejected a bottle twice before the 5 mile mark on the bike leading to wasting time going back to grab it and lost nutrition before I even got to the run. Despite that, I felt like I was racing until the last lap on the run.
After the swim being shortened by 60% is not my ideal scenario. Overall happy with the result after the last 4 weeks of inconsistent training, sleep, and recovery.
Ready to head out to Boulder to start training with @passionprojecttriathlon and really go all in to be the best I can be!
P8 at St. Anthonyâs this weekend
Not exactly how I thought the race would play out, but chasing all day made me think outside the box on tactics and race plan. Fitness is in a good spot and Iâm excited to race again in 10 days at 70.3 Gulf Coast. Swipe to see my secret weapon on the swim

After more than a decade of racing at a high level, this is a first. Missed the start of my first race today. Totally my fault but not the way to start a successful day.
More is to come on todayâs race

T-4 days until @stanthonystriathlon to try to defend my podium from last year!
Iâm lucky to live the life I am! Ready to seize the opportunities coming my way! A very exciting next couple months is in store!
3 years down, many many to come!
Thank you for putting up with my silliness and annoying tendencies. I love you!â¤ď¸
The end to long distance is coming up soon!
âs 70.3 Little Elm Bike Breakdown:
Time: 2:06:52
Speed: 26.58 mph
NP: 302w
Avg HR: 166 bpm
Avg Cadence: 95 rpm
Calories: 2260
Definitely a huge step in the right direction for me. The bike has been a big focus this offseason and it is starting to really show. Only giving up a couple minutes to the big names while riding by myself all day is a huge accomplishment and confidence boost! Now to just be able to run off it!

Definitely not the perfect day with battling tough conditions and last minute changes to the swim length, but still good things to take away from the race!
Had the 14th fastest bike split (2:06) only giving up a few minutes to the guys in the hunt for a top 10. The bike power is starting to come through from training, now just need to learn to fuel it!
Ready to get ready to race at St. Anthonyâs again in about a month! Thankful for the awesome homestay with the Bullardâs and @blake.l.h@synergywetsuits@rudyprojectna@zootsports
Itâs official. Iâm a whimp when it comes to the cold. Long sleeves today even though it was in the 60sđ
Whatâs the coldest you go before putting on long sleeves? Am I actually that spoiled?
