This seems like a. Good time to share this little Sith sketch - I really don't know much about this character, but it reminds me of Jason Vorhees with a light saber, so it's on brand!

Today I had the great honor of speaking with Andrei Ausch, also commonly known from the back of sketch card masterpieces as “DRE” It was an incredible conversation talking about how art can unify people from any walk of life, appreciation for opportunity, willing to climb any mountain in our way to success and important art techniques that can enhance your creations.
Artist Bio:
I’m Andrei Ausch, better known in the collector community as “DRE,” an illustrator and painter working in the entertainment and collectibles space. Since 2016, I’ve been creating commercial sketch cards for publishers like Upper Deck, Perna Studios and Topps, working on licensed projects for major brands like Marvel, DC, Paramount, WB. and Netflix.
I mainly work in acrylics, but I do like mixing things up with pencil crayons, airbrush, and inks depending on the piece. I draw a lot of inspiration from artists like Joe Jusko, Simon Bisley, Alex Ross, and Glenn Fabry (just to name a few) while always trying to shape a style that feels like my own. I’m big on constantly learning and refining my approach - it’s what keeps things interesting and helps me keep improving.
Outside of illustration, I have a background in graphic design and have spent close to 25 years working in digital marketing with both local and international brands. That experience carries over into my art, especially in how I think about composition, branding, and creating work that connects with people.

Hands down my favorite sketch from this batch. The #moleman comes out to bask in the sunshine. Still out there in a box of Topps Finest Fantastic Four.
I had so much fun with this grumpy guy. All the paint and stuff with a healthy dose of that gloss finish.

I love the bizarre characters I get to draw on some of these sets - Oculus is someone I've never heard of but he has that staple 90s cartoon villain vibe. And I'm old, so I like that.
He popped up on Topps Finest Fantastic Four break the other day and seemingly caused some confusion:)
