Anyone else been taking deep dives in their camera rolls just looking back on what life used to be? I made this for @damien.cortese when we were first dating long distance 😍
When it’s 4pm on a rainy day in LA, still in PJs and Yellow Brick Road starts playing on your kid’s Yoto. Tiny shrieks in the background. Workout mat bc I did a little strength… also in PJs 🫣

My heart has been shattered into a million pieces. I had to say goodbye to my tiny little soul mate, Archie and the grief is even heavier than I could have ever imagined.
Archie truly was the perfect dog. He could move effortlessly between being so sleepy calm and quiet to suddenly energetic and playful. Shih Tzus were bred to be lap dogs and he took his job VERY seriously, often surprising people by suddenly jumping into their laps and settling in. There was never a cold lap. Not on his watch.
When I first got Archie, I was living in an apartment that didn’t allow dogs. He was the teeniest floof with a high pitched puppy yap that I very quickly trained out of him. From that point on he was a silent dog. He never barked, even when other dogs went nuts in the street, and I always joked that if an intruder walked into our house Archie would just wag his tail.
His ability to be so calm and quiet made him such a pro traveler and an incredible set dog. He flew all over the country, and each time we would deplane someone would always comment “there was a dog on this plane!?” He was a regular at sketch rehearsals and backstage at UCB. He has appeared in many a comedy short, and was a demo dog for many professional grooming competitions. He was SUCH a good boy. 🥹
And beyond that, he truly was my baby. My first son. My tiny soul mate, and you only get one. Archie was there for me through all the breakups, the many different apartments, the jobs, the downtimes, the pregnancies, the postpartum. He was pure unconditional and effortless love.
One year ago, Archie had a totally normal vet check up and then suddenly this year he had a violent seizure which led us to find out that he had an aggressively growing brain tumor. The vet told me to expect a rapid decline. I wasn’t quite sure what that meant, and for the first month I thought maybe he’d be ok. But he started to go downhill very suddenly. The seizures got worse. His hind end was weak and he couldn’t jump up on his favorite chair. He started walking sideways. He would sleep all day, sometimes just shaking in his bed. Every now and again he would wander into the middle of the room and (continued below)
