Prompt: Web3 Solution FSR [For Some Reason]
At the peak of their hype in 2021, I considered minting NFTs —Non-Fungible Tokens— to monetize my digital artworks.
Doing that would've required that I trade in cryptocurrencies on one or more blockchains.
But I couln't shake the feeling that NFTs were the vehicles of a speculative bubble. And I didn't want to be left holding the bag when the bottom fell out.
I never made an NFT. The crypto market crashed in 2022.
I remain skeptical that crypto can sustain value without hype. And I find blockchains to be venues of unscrupulous exploits.
This is a game I can't win as a solopreneur.
Still, there is something to the concept of a blockchain. In it, I see a metaphor for what the internet has become:
A network of recorded data from which to find patterns in order to facilitate the continuation of those patterns.
A solution in search of itself.
