The so-called “shoplifting” bill that passed quietly in the House this week is NOT theft prevention. It would give federal organizations like DHS and ICE the ability to monitor you and access your personal data through a surveillance pipeline with hardly any limitations. What does it take to get Congress to act on housing justice? A Republican congressman. A formerly incarcerated advocate. A Boston University researcher. And a conservative policy attorney. @repmackenzie shares why he supports this ground breaking legislation. The Fair Future Act is rare — genuinely bipartisan legislation that both sides of the aisle can stand behind because the argument is simple: If someone has paid their debt to society, rebuilt their life, and is ready to be a productive member of their community — a 40-year-old law should not be the thing standing between them and a safe home. #fairfutureact #FairHousing #BipartisanReform #SecondChances #criminaljusticereform

We had quite the day today!! @dream.corps ’ Green Re-Entry Incubator, helped us solarize the trailer we built for the Broad River Fire Department. Today marked the final day of a two day workshop we did with the incubator this week. Day one was this past Wednesday, and consisted of introductions, a meditation on emotional recovery, and a lesson about Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) from our very own Senior Program Manager for Appalachia, Jamie Trowbridge. It was really nice meeting and working with everyone in the incubator, and we look forward to working more with dream.org sometime in the future! P.S. We had a film crew here today because we are working on a longform video about one of our local communities. It’ll be released sometime this summer 🌞🙂‍↕️

A 40-year-old law is quietly blocking millions of Americans and thousands in the Lehigh Valley from housing due to decades-old drug convictions. We recently brought together advocates, researchers, and lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss how to advance public safety through access to opportunity, not exclusion from it. #fairfutureact #secondchance #fairhousing

For people returning home from incarceration, access to stable housing can mean the difference between rebuilding a life or falling back into the system. Too often barriers make that stability nearly impossible to secure. That is why we created the Housing For All campaign 🔗 Read more at the link in bio!

Yesterday, the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to gut the Voting Rights Act. Black communities at the center of this ruling are the same communities that have been over-policed, over-incarcerated, and over-polluted for generations. Now they’re being underrepresented too. This is not common ground. This is the opposite. Swipe to read our response from Chief Advocacy Officer @janosdmarton and tap the link in bio for our full statement.

Our own @thefire_thistime reflects on the 2026 Day of Empathy. Every year, we are honored to host the nation’s largest day of action for criminal justice reform. This year we co-hosted events in 14 states with 500+ participants, 100+ legislative visits, and 40+ lawmakers. These events reminded us that real change happens when lived experience leads and communities come together to make it possible. Read more at the link in bio 🔗
