Back in 2020, I shifted Toronto Sound’s focus toward contributing to a long format project each year — bringing our approach to location sound onto the big screen, and prioritizing work with great people on creative, collaborative projects.
That path has led to some incredible work and recognition along the way — with
@dreadpirateeric nominated for Best Sound Mixing on Scarborough (CSA 2022),
@nathanjstreet winning Best Sound Mixing on BlackBerry (CSA 2024), and now my own nomination for Best Sound Mixing on Nirvanna the Band the Show: The Movie (CSA 2026).
A big thank you to the Nirvanna the Band the Show: The Movie team
@ntbtstm for trusting me with the location sound recording on this project. I am truly honoured to be a part of this amazing vision alongside the incredible post audio team at
@urbanpost_toronto
Thank you to
@thecdnacademy for this nomination, and to all the producers, production companies, and clients who have believed in
@torontosound over the years. That trust has made all of this possible.
I’m incredibly lucky to have such a supportive network of family, friends, and colleagues. This journey as a location sound recordist and small business owner has been a long one—and at times challenging—but waking up to news like this makes it all worth it.
