Took a walk yesterday and this song was on loop in my head for every step of it. @jungle4eva knocked it out of the park with this one. It itches all the itchy parts of my brain.
I just felt like posting this. As a side note....
I'm convinced that knowing how to fade the end of a song is a skill that can't be taught. You're born with or without it. You feel it in your giblets or you don't. If you're not a natural born fader you might need to hire that crap out.
There's no reason I should be able to build this studio someday, but I likely will.
This is a mock-up of one of a few dream studios I'd enjoy having. I grew up in Mongolia and always loved the idea of a Mongolian yurt (ger) studio since they are basically made out of diffusion and absorption. Building all of it within a giant Victorian style greenhouse both to control the environment but also be in a space full of life to create in. Treehouse because treehouse. Weirdly I've actually thought this one through quite a bit and the ai definitely couldn't handle specifics, but it vaguely communicates at least. No one ever blamed me for setting my sights too low haha.
Let me know if you know of any millionaires who love art more than money who want to fund this ;).

Even when the hurricanes miss us they still completely change the landscape of the beaches. And yes, that's a coffee cup full of sea glass because I'm a child. Keep making records folks.
I don't have a Grammy yet, but I've got more than most would dream of. A beautiful wife in my corner to adventure with, 3 amazing girls (2 not pictured because they wanted to chill in the car), and a road with my name on it. We are a persistent bunch and no matter the curves life sends, we only get stronger by the day. Excited to see where life leads our wild little family over the coming years.
I try to get my feet in the sand as often as possible but it's far less than I'd like. My brain has to do stuff so I look for sea glass for the kids. I feel like looking for beauty is similar to listening for it. You can find a lot of beautiful sonic nuggets in a song if you literally just take the time to listen for what's there instead of what you think should be there.
I enjoy traveling to make records.
Whether that's a pilgrimage to a studio that has some magic we seek or just coming to you for convenience, it's great. I do think you should consider being on that plane though and making a record in paradise. Nothing like a walk on the beach before you hit the studio to make something that will live forever.
Big Dipper over the studio on my walk out to mix some more magic. Definitely worth slowing down enough to take a peak at the stars every now and again.
