UPDATE! I am now offering free initial in-person consultations and x-rays for all new patients under 21 with scoliosis with PPO insurance. I want to make it easy for as many patients as possible to come see me to discuss all of the options available for treatment, both non-surgical and surgical.
In addition, I have talked to a lot of my patients from my former practice, and I want to make sure they have the opportunity to continue their care with me if they so choose. So I am now offering all of my former scoliosis patients a free in-person consultation and x-rays as well. I will also see all of my postoperative spine patients free of charge for two years after their last surgery. This allows me to make sure they have the best result possible with the highest level of surveillance and care. I am honored that you trusted me to take care of your child, and I want to make sure that I do everything I can to keep that trust going forward.
I’ve compiled some frequently asked questions—please swipe through for details!
This really made my day today! Saw my patient two weeks after a procedure. He wrote me this really nice note which made me a little misty 🥺🥺🥺
This reminded me of why I love my practice and my patients!

This pretty much made my year so far! This is an eight-year-old patient that I have known for many years. He had a severe congenital scoliosis with a hemimetameric shift. The family received a lot of different opinions including early fusion, growing rods, and staged surgery. After much discussion, I told the family that I was confident I could do this in a single stage.
I took him to the operating room almost 6 years ago for single-stage double hemivertebrectomy to correct both of his curves simultaneously. He has not only maintained his alignment but is also able to kick some ass in karate, as shown. I’m really proud of him and it reminds me of why I do what I do. My goal is always to get all patients back to being themselves. Seeing a video like this makes all of the years of training and hard work completely worthwhile!
I love seeing my patients with big smiles on their faces! Hayden is a very active dude who had a big curve in his back. Because he had significant growth remaining, we felt that a hybrid posterior spinal fusion and lumbar anterior vertebral body tethering was the best procedure for him to be able to maintain his lumbar motion throughout his lifetime. I was happy to get his lumbar curvature down from 57° to 11° degrees. But I was even happier that he and his family were thrilled at the result. He’s now about 2 inches taller than I am, even though we started at about the same height.
If you or your child has scoliosis, I would be happy to see you in the clinic for a free initial visit, as long as you have PPO insurance and are under 21. I am the only one who offers motion sparing procedures like anterior vertebral body tethering for scoliosis correction in the Los Angeles area. The key for tethering is timing, because it requires growth remaining to be successful. It is very important to be evaluated quickly so that all options can be available.
Look forward to seeing you in the office soon!

Proud to announce that I was selected to Castle Connelly Top Doctors AND Southern California Super Doctors again this year! This award goes out to the top 5-7% of all physicians and I am really honored to be part of this prestigious group. Looking forward to providing great care for patients again in 2026!
A massive thank you to my amazing patients. Your resilience inspires me daily, and your willingness to tolerate dad jokes in the exam room keeps me evolving. I also can’t thank my incredible staff and partners enough. I’m so lucky to work alongside the best in the biz! 🦴🦾#OrthopaedicSurgeon #Orthopaedics

Really incredible weekend of work, scoliosis research, and snowboarding! Had the opportunity to hang out with a lot of friends mixing work and play. Also got to stay at my good friend Mark Erickson’s house which was absolutely spectacular. These kind of weekends really invigorate me and are deeply therapeutic for my soul. Looking forward to the next one!
