It was a great night of community and art. 🪶
This time last year I did a festival in Canada 🇨🇦 called Lapu Lapu day 🇵🇭 the show was an absolute success, but at the end of the event there was a tragedy and people were injured and some people lost their lives 🕊️❤️🩹… this song is dedicated to the people effected and the people lost. I want to thank the people of the Fraser community and Vancouver BC for all the love and support they have shown me, this one is for yall 🫶🏽
Dear Fraser Community,
On April 26, 2025, I was invited to perform on the mainstage of the Lapu Lapu Festival. This day that was so beautifully celebrated, ended in tragedy, which deeply impacted your community and was felt by so many of us all over the world.
I was personally impacted by my experience with you all. Profoundly hurt by the loss, yet also very moved by the support and love of the community. The way you carry one another in both joy and grief was an embodiment of the resilient spirit of Lapu Lapu. Every smile, every tear, every embrace changed my life.
My hope for the song is to bring some positive energy to the memory of Lapu Lapu day, and to bring people together who experienced the tragedy, so we can grieve in a way that unites us. I am grateful to and acknowledge that the creation of this video was made on the lands of the first ancestral peoples and caretakers of Unceded Coast Salish territories- the Musqueam, Squamish and Tseil-wautuuth peoples.

Welcome to THE LAB, Mizzy 🧪💚
Mizzy Mejia is a music industry veteran with more than two decades of experience supporting artists and building infrastructure across British Columbia and Canada. He runs TALA Music & Consulting, where he partners with artists and organizations to develop tailored strategies, creative direction, and sustainable industry solutions, while also working with Timbre Concerts.
A true multi-hyphenate, Mizzy has worn nearly every hat the industry offers, from event and festival production to artist and project management, songwriting, producing, consulting, educational workshops, and grant writing. As a former touring artist who has navigated virtually every corner of the music busines, he brings firsthand insight into where the industry’s gaps exist and remains focused on developing practical ways to address them.
His work is rooted in gate-opening, democratizing access to knowledge and resources, and operating from a mindset of abundance. He understands that every artist, company, and team operates differently, and collaborates closely with clients to craft tailored solutions and creative direction that align with their specific goals and working styles.
