Growing up immersed in architecture through his family, Dean Chew’s early exposure to construction sites and his mother’s encouragement fostered a keen eye for detail and a love for drawing. Despite graduating in architecture and working at various firms, he found a more unconventional path appealing, fueled by his interest in electronic music and sub-culture.
He became a partner at FUUR associates for a decade, amassing a portfolio of F&B, hospitality, retail, and commercial projects. Alongside this, he co-founded the influential music label and collective
@darkerthanwax and DJed extensively.
During the pandemic, Dean established his spatial design practice,
@drawn_sg and conceptualised
@offtrack.sg , a music-centric venue that has become a vital creative space, notably ranking among Asia’s 50 Best Bars. Driven by curiosity, Dean seamlessly blends design and music, defining him as both an artist and most importantly, a human being.
