DocPlay is committed to championing local stories that celebrate and showcase the richness of Australian characters and places. While we are a streaming platform, we understand the positive, momentous impact of sharing a cinema experience with an audience: with this new initiative, we hope to assist independent documentarians to reach distinct communities in the sacred space of the cinema.
We were impressed by our winners’ portraits of character, place and legacy, and we can see how curious audiences will congregate to see these documentaries in a cinema space. We are so looking forward to working with the winning teams to further support this.
The winners of the DocPlay Indie Booster Award at @aidcmelb are Mosquitoes and The Dig. Congratulations!
MOSQUITOES - dir. Jen Atherton and producer Courtney Mulvay
