The new Agia Marina Municipal Market is designed to reconnect the fragmented parts of the city: its monuments, its different levels, and the present with the long history of Ioannina. It draws inspiration from the area’s vaulted architecture and reinterprets it in a contemporary way. A planted roof becomes a new lookout and walking route, while small public plazas and water paths bring monuments, culture and everyday life closer again. Participation in architectural competition, 2025 Architects: Panos Dragonas, Yannis Karras Associates: Dimitris Paschalis, Lina Papaioannou, Irene Verykiou #ArchitectureCompetition #ArchCompetition #CompetitionEntry #UrbanDesign #PublicSpace

In our proposal for Ioannina, around the new Market – and across the rooftop garden – a network of seven public plazas creates an urban experience with a shared architectural identity. Each plaza features water as its main element: a fountain, a small pool or a thin linear stream between them, combined with red ceramic paving. Water becomes the guide to the site’s main routes and the subtle “line” that ties the public space together. Participation in architectural competition, 2025. In our proposal for the new public Market of Ioannina, the building engages with the nearby monuments – Veli Mosque, the Medrese and Kaloutsiani – and reinterprets their vaulted architecture through contemporary design. Above the building, an elevated urban garden with lake views and water channels creates a new promenade towards the city centre. At the entrance, a new square follows the Mediterranean typology, where market and piazza form one public destination. Participation in architectural competition, 2025. A vacation house on a sloping site above the beach of Porto Heli. A composition unfolding like a cinematic montage of movements along the land. Above, the upper floor opens through balconies to the horizon. Below, the living space flows out to the pool, extending daily life outdoors. w. At the heart of the house, a vertical core containing the dining area becomes the hinge of the composition. Around this central space, movements are articulated like cinematic cuts, shifting seamlessly from one axis to the other. . . . #housedesign #archdesign #architecturaldesign #architecture #greekarchitecture #greekarchitects # archiworld #architectureingreece #poolhouse #postdigital #sketching #architecturalsketch #architecturalsketches #sketchingdaily #sketchbook #PanosDragonas #DragonasStudio

A house that unfolds like a montage of movements along two distinct axes. Life expands outdoors, around a swimming pool embraced by the two axes — a luminous stage where architecture, landscape, and movement come together. w. #ElectronicUrbanism was a visionary project by Takis Ch. Zenetos, developed over more than 20 years. Envisioning suspended cities, tele-energetic capsules, and new forms of dwelling, it anticipated many aspects of our digital era. The central installation of the exhibition “Tomorrows” at the Diplareios School brought Zenetos’s radical vision back into public view after decades of silence. For the first time since 1971, the original models of #ElectronicUrbanism — the house of the future, the city of the future, and the furniture for the year 2000 — were presented in “Tomorrows” exhibition. Archival drawings were digitally reproduced, while Zenetos’s personal notes and sketches — never exhibited before — revealed the depth of his futuristic thinking. The exhibition design emphasized this rare encounter with the architect’s material legacy. The exhibition “Tomorrows” took place at the Diplareios School in central Athens — a half-abandoned 1930s eclectic building in a district marked by decline during the 2010s. The exhibition design embraced this setting, juxtaposing the decayed urban shell with visions of the future, such as Takis Ch. Zenetos’s #ElectronicUrbanism. The contrast between ruin and projection became part of the visitor’s experience, highlighting the tension between past, present, and imagined futures. Weather Engines” was an exhibition at @Onassis.Stegi , curated by @Daphne_Dragona and Jussi Parikka, exploring the poetics, politics, and technologies of the environment — from soil to atmosphere, and from the ground to the sky. The exhibition design translated this complex narrative into a spatial and sensory experience for the visitor. Exhibition design: Panos Dragonas. “Weather Engines” at @Onassis.Stegi revealed the conflicts of experiencing and resisting colonial weather, while opening the horizon for the climates we would rather live in. The design approach emphasized this duality, creating an exhibition space that embodied both the urgency of the climate crisis and the possibility of reimagining weather as a shared future. The exhibition design of “Weather Engines” at @onassis.stegi aimed to create an atmosphere of translucency and discovery. Semi-transparent curtains defined each installation while allowing visual connections to the others. Through light, fabric, and shifting perspectives, the exhibition unfolded as a gradual, cinematic journey for the visitor. Curated by @Daphne_Dragona , Jussi Parikka.
