It was amazing to get to witness and be a part of the moment that @studiobythetracks recent resident artist @hugh.patton cultivated throughout the period of his residency inspired by parallel play, collaboration, and process. I took more photos but participating in the collaborative and interactive moments that artists curate is magic. I had goosebumps and was so inspired by the time dedicated to the many hands who shared space processing and overlapping lines together.

I've been going through old notes and documents and realizing that I have far more poetry written than I thought I did.. so I guess you get to benefit, engage, and empathize with the drafted thoughts from my mind from different times in my life. /pub/bysam/p/a-thank-you-note-to-little-me?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=38n3ra

"domestic terrorists, or so we're told" is up on substack for free, because I'm not gonna make you pay to see my art or poetry. And apparently I'm gonna have a lot of it to upload this year. Here's the poem link to read the rest at your convenience: /pub/bysam/p/domestic-terrorists-so-were-told?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=38n3ra

"the walls i've built for myself" is up on substack (πŸ”— in bio). I've also been finding old recordings and was curious if y'all would be interested in me posting more poetry readings? (Old recordings with the fresh feelings after writing and new recordings for some as well)

day 30 of drawing daily: "GOOD MORNING MINNEAPOLIS" πŸ–•πŸ§Š Sketches of many scenes uploaded on the internet around the murder of Renee Good. trying to document a history as they try to rewrite it... all history was once a current event, and it is up to the people who exist In these moments to be active, document, and participate in the change that they want to see in the world.. because when we are quiet or too bothered to care because it doesn't affect you yet, rights get stripped away one by one and people collectively lose power against those who want to take it. I fell asleep after drawing this yesterday, so you get it today after I've processed a bit more.. The administration has the blood of every single person who has lost their life to 🧊 on their hands. So far reported, 32 people died because of them in 2025, as of dec more than 68,000 are in detainment and more than 75% of them have no criminal record.. people who like you and me just want a better fucking life and more opportunities for their families.. many of which came through through proper means and we're going through proper processes to set before them and detained at court hearings.. I would say make it make sense but you can't make hate and prejudice make sense. As an update, after the murder of Renee Good, apparently 🧊 agents were seen harassing students at a local school, and so school's canceled for the rest of the week.

day 26/100 of drawing daily: "welcome to 2026" from the dept of war. a quote directly from P. Hegseth from Trump's address post bombs dropping on Venezuela in 'Operation Absolute Resolve'. this was drawn during that address. theres a lot of info coming out and a lot of opinions...all I know is that the US is doing a lot of stuff that they'd hypocritically say was wrong/illegal/improper if another country did it.. all while coming from a president who claimed to be the no regime change pres while saying that the US is gonna instill their choice for folks to make "Venezuela great again" and help process their oil

It's December...and 17 year old me has found myself in strange places, faces, spaces, and witnessed so much more than they'd think they would between then and now. It's cool to think that in history it's only recently new to have an archive of photos/videos/Sound recordings that we can document and have due to the accessibility and advancements of technology. To see and hear people we've never met and some we can't ever. I found this video on fb and heard my laugh recorded from and I was reminded that I am here today because that version of me did everything they could to laugh and smile through the circumstances they had been experiencing...and for better or worse I'm glad they did...they wanted to give up, tried to, and then kept going out of spite. I am who I am today because of them, those laughs, a sprinkle of trauma, and some stubbornness I get from my momma. I'm thinking about everything all at once, like I do sometimes, and looking at 2026 with delusional optimism and a million ideas.
