RAPHA LINCOLN GP OPEN
In a field of 160 all wanting to be at the front it was always going to be a race of luck for at least the first lap up Michaelgate, Ollie and Will made it up with no issue but unfortunately Alex was caught up in the mayhem with someone just riding into him and unfortunately puncturing because of it, a wheel change and a DRAFT on the car with a fortunately timed crash in the pelo allowed Alex to get back into the Convoy.
Ollie and Will fought valiantly with Ollie averaging 305w for 2hrs but unfortunately lost contact with the group up Michaelgate for the 5th time, Jewitt suffering from cramp after another rider repeatedly hit bottles out of Parry’s hand in the feed withdrew from the race on lap 6/7.
LINCOLN 2026
An early start for the Women on Sunday with sign on opening at 7am! All turned up ready and raring to go despite the cool breeze in the sunny skies of the ~shithole~ glorious Lincoln ~tower block~ Cathedral.
Bikes checked thanks to Eli!!!! Wheels and spare bike locked and loaded into the car the girls were ready and lined up for the neutral start. Unfortunately Niamh was caught up in a crash in the neutral where some hooligan just rode into her and bent her rear derailleur/hanger (which we weren’t told about over race radio!) Niamh sorted herself out and got going again but first time up Michaelgate the rear derailleur entered the rear wheel and the spokes left the chat.
Emily and Ruby rode extremely well after DAS animated the race really early on and made it a race of attrition until the split was made, who rode to an amazing 42nd and 63rd in a really stacked field!

Koppenberg is one of boulders oldest running bike races, half gravel half tarmac its pretty different from anything on the UK scene.
‘I didn’t really know anything about how the race dynamics would play out and who too watch […] but when you’re racing a legendary athlete like Gwen Jorgensen ( @gwenjorgensen ) you have to have that in your mind’ It was going well until a masters rider drafting some juniors took Lucy down. ‘I wasn’t really hurt and my bike was fine so I only lost a couple of seconds and I won by over three minutes albeit missing some skin and now I need george’s mum to repair my skin suit’.
