Pursuing your dreams can take you down a nightmarish path that will quickly wake you up to your greater desire for comfort and stability. The truth is most of you aren't built to follow your dreams. You give up too easy. You don't put in the work. You aren't willing to sacrifice enough. No one tells you the cost of a dream. I look at my life now asking myself was the price worth it. If it was just a dream I'd say no. If it was just a dream I would have given up long ago. I'm still here because this is my purpose not some pipe dream that I romanticized. This business is filled with many nos, not right nows and the occasional yes. The mental anguish I've faced trying to do this has been harder than I can articulate.
I'm so blessed to do this full-time but there's so much more for me to do. I think back to how fearless I was as a performer years ago. On this day I will continue to improve in my craft carrying the confidence that life had beaten out of me.
I will not be denied, I will never give up.

Most days I don't know how you do it. One day is no where near enough to celebrate all you do for us and our little one. Even on this day as I'm getting ready to work I never have to wonder if I'm supported or resented.
Truly am thankful for you being you. Our house is made a home with you. It's no wonder she clings to you, hanging on your every word. You're a great example and constant warmth in a cold world.

Everything we do has a focus. A reason. A vision. We are very intentional in how we live our lives and that doesn't stop with our work as models and actors. In fact, because of what we do means we need to be even more attentive to our daily tasks and how we are showing up. Our days are long. Sometimes there is little sleep and a lot of travel. Outside of showing up for shoots, fittings, and set days, there are still auditions, callbacks, and everything in between. On top of that, we are parents who are intent on raising a smart, kind-hearted individual, and most days, we are exhausted. But there is no rest for the weary. Even through all of this, we make sure our first focus is God. We continue to have Faith even in times when it feels like it's being tested the most. These are the things you don't see. We show up for the jobs, we complete the auditions, and we give the energy that needs to be given. But none of that is done without first giving thanks to God, and the closer we are to God, the closer we are to each other 🙏🏽

It looks so beautiful. The incredible views and all the wonderful places we get to see.
What you don't see is all the auditions, sacrifices and countless times we hear no. Especially when doing this full-time you have to advocate for yourself. This industry is so fast-paced and it's easy for others to forget about you even though you're expected to say how high when asked to jump.
Still I'm thankful to be here. I'm thankful for all the wonderful things God has blessed us with and best of all we get to do it together.

I encourage everyone in the entertainment space to invest in yourself. This is your career. No agency or manager can save you. Put in the work and do what you can to make yourself undeniable.
My lights and backdrop have already helped me. Early on I just relied on my look and raw ability. I was able to book some but definitely lost out on some opportunities. Be it classes, headshots or your self-tape setup don't be cheap on your dreams. Now obviously use wisdom and don't just spend money aimlessly. Be a student of your craft and industry so you can make informed decisions.
Believe in God and show your faith by believing in yourself (His creation). Indeed all things are possible but faith without works is dead.

This is a portion of a recent audition I did for a pastor role (no worries everything here was not part of the script). It makes me think about this current climate in society.
Too many people that claim to represent God are moving in hate and fear. I was taught to walk in love. Definitely missed the mark too many times but always knew that I am no better than anyone else and no one is better than me. That doesn't mean that I agree/co-sign everything but I try to treat people with respect and decency.
It's always weird for me figuring out what I choose to put on social media but this is personal to me. I don't know who needs to hear this but you are loved regardless of if those who claim to know God expresses love toward you.

It can be hard to be content when you're striving for so much more. I'm ready to feast on the spoils of my faith.
Still through it all I rely on the ultimate chef and trust that what's on my plate is sufficient in the moment. Some wonderful things are cooking and I'll relish in every bite in due time.

A Week in Our Slates...
Here's a snippet of some (not all!) of the slates from this past week. Our days are BUSY! Outside of the regular day-to-day survival basics, we have auditions that need to get done by their designated deadlines in addition to the specific prompts required by each one. Some come from our agents, and others are self-submissions. We wake up to media requests and eco casts, and then we figure out how to structure our days from there. Even though we never know where the next booking is coming from, we are always grateful for every opportunity that comes our way and always strive to show up and deliver in the best way we can 🙏🏽
