Ray Juss, a real digger’s digger and part of the Ngoma family At our launch night in July, Ray Juss brought pure Ray Juss vibes to the dancefloor. Deep, soulful, rhythmic selections that kept the energy flowing and the heads nodding. His set was a journey rooted, rich and full of character. Based in Cheltenham but shaped by years in London’s underground music scenes, Ray’s musical story runs deep. A former pirate radio regular and founder of the vinyl-only night Off The Record, he’s been flying the flag for soulful, boundary pushing music for decades. From deep house and broken beat to UKG, Ray’s selections are all about feel the groove, the weight, the rhythm that moves you. He’s shared stories of digging for long lost 12s, chasing memories of tunes heard once on tape, and keeping the culture alive with every mix. We’re lucky to have him as part of the Ngoma crew, and we know many of you felt the connection through his set. Alongside Ray Juss, will be DJs Katie Novo, and myself, Robbie Duncan, with Ronnie McGrath & Dr.Keys Catch us all again at Ngoma, Friday 7 November at Stroud Brewery. A night for dancing, connection and community. Ngoma is back at Stroud Brewery & Taproom on Friday 7 November Massive love to everyone who came to the launch night on Friday 18 July what a beautiful vibe. Big thanks to Dr.Keys for setting the tone with such a rich, soulful, live set. The room felt alive, full of connection, rhythm and real joy. The name Ngoma comes from African traditions it means drum, dance, gathering, celebration… even healing. That spirit runs through everything we’re building with these nights. It’s about bringing people together, creating a space that feels welcoming, safe and open to all. You can come to Ngoma to dance, to listen, to catch up with friends or just to feel the music in good company. No pressure. No barriers. Just community through sound. Alongside Dr.Keys, the launch featured an incredible lineup of talent: DJs Katie Novo, Ray Juss and myself, Robbie Duncan, with Ronnie McGrath bringing deep rhythmic energy on live percussion. We’re all looking forward to welcoming you again. The next Ngoma is happening Friday 7 November same place, same spirit. More music, more dancing, more connection. This is my blood Family. They are amazingly awesome and we are growing into a connected force that is unstoppable. We have tribe & beautiful connections that aren’t blood but growth together whilst learning from each other how to be better is a journey that is beautiful. Gotta work individually on yourselves first to find real connection but also remain open to channels of learning through the simplest thing in a day or from any encounter. This time away in Glastonbury with my family has helped me grow & be more aware because I’m trying to help heal my past traumas with awareness so I can help my family tribe heal too. Love is definitely the most powerful energy we can give to ourselves in turn naturally projecting it out to the world. Look at dem. Look at there Strength, Beauty, Vulnerability & with that there is shadow which makes us whole. Celebrate wholly who you are. Make sure you elevate someone today. Start with yourself. I’m Just waffling on but I know I’ve been blessed over & over & pride & Joy is over spilling from my cup. 🖤❤️

Perspective helps if you’re able to Change angles, move back, move forward, elevate, lay down, close your eyes, listen, perspective looking at something from something & not see it singularly. Capture the whole light & shade because everything has depth.
