Blue agate is more than just a beautiful stone, itâs a calming presence in any gua sha practice.
Known for its naturally cooling and grounding properties, blue agate helps soothe heat and calm the skin, while its smooth surface glides effortlessly across the face to release tension and stagnation. This gentle stimulation supports the free flow of qi, helping to restore balance, vitality, and radiance from within.
Rooted in both tradition and intention, blue agate is believed to calm the spirit and clear blocked energyâmaking it a powerful ally in reconnecting with your bodyâs natural rhythm.
Ideal for those seeking a more grounding and restorative gua sha ritual.

âď¸ Acupressure to go âď¸
In TCM we have three somatotropic Microsystems- the tongue, the radial pulse and the ear. The tongue and pulse are used for diagnosis only but the ear is used for treatment. Those three areas are microsystems that represent the whole body. Ie we look at the tongue and can see how the digestion is doing, we feel the pulse and can tell if thereâs anger/grief/ back pain etc. For the ear- itâs mapped out and can be stimulated to affect different systems in the body. I frequently use auricular therapy in clinical treatments through needling or placing ear seeds. Kind of like âacupuncture to goâ. They can be used for:
- pain
- fertility
- anxiety/insomnia
- concussions
- addiction
-headaches
Many in clinic treatments include ear seed application, but you can also have a set at home if you canât make it into the clinic. đ

A really powerful evening with some big wave makers in womenâs health. Thank you for inviting me @natarchibald đ¸â¤ď¸

Last week in Vancouver, we gathered for Beyond the Clinic with @thenestclinic_ , a conversation centered on rethinking what fertility care can look like when you integrate care.
One of the most powerful takeaways: you donât have to navigate your fertility journey alone. You can build your own healthcare team, one that supports you across every aspect of your care.
We explored how care like acupuncture, naturopathy, and Traditional Chinese Medicine can work alongside clinical fertility treatment to help improve outcomes, whether youâre trying to conceive, considering egg freezing, or simply wanting to better understand your body.
More importantly, we talked about shifting from fragmented care to true partnership, where providers collaborate, communicate, and support you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms.
Itâs never too early or too late to start the conversation about integrating different forms of care into your fertility journey. Both The Nest and Twig have dedicated healthcare professionals who specialize in fertility support and are here to meet you wherever you are, creating plans that are personalized and aligned with your needs.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to be part of this evolving conversation đ¤

Calling all money curious and health conscious individuals! We are very lucky to have Kathryn DeFilippo presenting on a rarely talked about (in the healthcare world) yet very important topic đľ

About our presenter đŠđźâđť:
Kathryn lives in North Vancouver with her husband and two daughters, embracing a new chapter after relocating from Tucson, Arizona. Raised in the Sonoran Desert, she developed an early appreciation for expansive landscapes and big-picture thinkingâan outlook that shaped her career.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Arizona and built a successful career as a portfolio advisor with Northern Trust. Kathryn worked with high-net-worth clients across Denver, Boston, and Arizona, helping them navigate financial complexity with clarity and confidence. Known for her thoughtful, relationship-driven approach, she specialized in defining meaningful goals and creating customized investment strategies across diverse asset classes.
Beyond her advisory work, Kathryn is passionate about financial empowermentâparticularly for women. She played a leadership role in a community initiative focused on financial literacy, creating space for open, approachable conversations around personal finance, estate planning, and investing.
After moving to Vancouver, Kathryn chose to step away from advising to focus on family life. Today, she brings that same intention to this seasonâprioritizing connection, community, and presence.
Outside of family life, she enjoys exploring British Columbiaâs natural beautyâon the trails, in the mountains, and by the waterâwhile continuing to be inspired by helping others feel confident in their financial futures.
Limited space, please sign up early to guarantee your spot. đ
So much of TCM is observation. Visual, auditory, tactile and olfactory. The art of subtle diagnosis comes down to how much you can slow down and pay attention. Itâs a constant work in progress for me, and the more I practice the more sensitive I become.
Join us next week in Vancouver! @twigfertility and @thenestclinic_ are joining forces to bring you Beyond the Clinic, an intimate panel on combining reproductive medicine with acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and naturopathy. đą
Most people donât realize that clinic-based care is just one piece of the fertility journey. This conversation will explore how an integrated, collaborative approach can help optimize outcomes, support hormonal health, and ensure you feel informed and empowered every step of the way. Weâll shine a light on the full ecosystem of care available and how these disciplines work together to provide comprehensive, patient-centered support.
