Hyperpigmentation needs strategy.
1. Pigment-correcting serum (AM/PM)
@caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum
Powered by Viniferine (yes, the one that’s up to 62x more effective than vitamin C at brightening 👀)
2. A product for skin cell turnover e.g. and exfoliating acid
3. SPF (AM)
Because fixing pigmentation without sunscreen… is like mopping the floor while the tap is still running.
That’s it. No chaos. No 15-step routine.
Just consistency and ingredients that actually pull their weight.
Save this if you’re serious about managing your pigmentation

Perioral hyperpigmentation 👄
(Also these routine works for redness/ irritation around the lips )
A lot of people treat this area way too aggressively. The skin around the lips is delicate, reactive, and honestly very dramatic.
So for once… we are NOT reaching for a retinoid first. ❌
Instead:
✔ 10% azelaic acid - helps calm inflammation, reduce redness, fade pigmentation, and can even help with darker lips over time.
✔ SPF every single day - mineral SPF is less irritating
✔️ Thick barrier treatment (aquaphor, healing ointment)
✔ Check your triggers
❌ Lip licking, harsh toothpaste, fragranced lip products, over-exfoliating, even spicy foods in some people can keep this cycle going.
Comment “LIPS” and I’ll send you the full doctor-approved routine 👄
It’s okay to be a doctor and want money.
Just got back from the States and one thing I noticed is that a lot of doctors there seem to see financial wellbeing as part of their overall wellbeing.
Thriving clinics, social media, consultancy work, digital products, brand deals… and nobody seems embarrassed by the fact they want to make good money alongside medicine.
I do think in the UK there’s sometimes this underlying feeling that wanting financial success somehow makes you less caring or less committed to medicine.
Over 1 year out of the NHS and I’m starting to think we need to have more honest conversations about that.
Thoughts?

Things doctors know… but the internet doesn’t explain properly enough - part 3
BODY HYPERPIGMENTATION EDITION 🧴
Most body hyperpigmentation products don’t actually work very well.
❌ Kojic acid bar soaps
❌ Bio-Oil
❌ Random luxury body lotions
❌ Expensive “brightening” creams with no real actives
The issue?
A lot of them either: • don’t stay on the skin long enough • don’t contain effective concentrations • or don’t actually target melanin production properly
If you’re trying to fade: • dark marks • post-shaving pigmentation • body acne marks • uneven tone
…you generally want:
✔️ leave-on tyrosinase inhibitors
✔️ exfoliating acids
✔️ body retinoids
✔️ a good urea moisturiser
✔️ consistency
Not just vibes in a luxury bottle 😭

Vitamin C is NOT fixing anyone’s dark elbows 😭🧴
Dark elbows are usually a mix of pigment + thickened skin + dryness from years of friction. You need to treat all 3… not just slap on a brightening serum and hope for the best.
Comment “ELBOWS” for the full dark elbows + knees routine 🤎✨

will this actually work? 👀
✅ yes.
1️⃣hibiclens = kills body bacteria
(also helps with HS, ingrown hairs, body odour)
2️⃣good molecules discoloration serum = multiple pigment fighters
(tranexamic acid + niacinamide = targeting marks from different angles)
so you’re hitting both sides:
breakouts + the marks they leave behind ✨

Ad This is not a sexy product. That’s how you know it works.
Mixa Urea Cica Repair
10% urea = soft, smooth, unproblematic skin.
No fragrance fantasy. No influencer fluff. Just results. Suitable For:
• crusty feet that have seen things
• KP that won’t take a hint
• dry, ashy skin that refuses to moisturise itself
Urea breaks down the buildup. Hydrates properly. Fixes the issue, not the aesthetic.
Sometimes the products that don’t look good on your shelf…
are the ones that make your skin look the best.
Save this for when your skin starts acting up.
