It was ramp o’clock when I finished seeing patients in the village the other day. I visited one of my super secret patches and did some responsible foraging, then stopped to pick up some gorgeous local, fresh eggs (comments). When you have such perfect ingredients, cooking is a dream! The temp got up to 90 here in the hudson valley yesterday. What to do for supper? How about an icy cold martini followed by a raw fish and veg situation: Salmon and tuna sticky rice poke bowls with edamame, cucumber, avocado, watermelon radish, mango, wasabi, ponzu, nori, foraged violets.

First time making Shrimp Mozambique. Absolutely delicious, made with local organic garlic (thank you for the gift, Keith Stewart!). Served with whole grain pasta and braised brussels sprouts. 10/10 will make again.#potterinthekitchen

I try to skew towards local and seasonal ingredients as much as possible. But my spouse (of 40 years!) was going to be near a Trader Joe’s so I decided to try a few of their well documented special items. The shrimp were excellent and the arugula was spicy and fresh. Very nice parm! Toasted, brothy orzo with local onions, wild red Argentinian shrimp, tomatoes, peas, and parm with scallions; lemony organic arugula salad, aged parm ribbons. #traderjoes #whoknew #potterinthekitchen

Did I tell you that my wonderful son Brian surprised me with an air fryer for the holidays? I was a skeptic and he knew I would never buy one myself, but correctly guessed that I would love it!
