Well, hello there! Welcome to my little corner of the internet. Here's where I share knowledge about mental performance for athletes and high performers.
I strongly believe that the more people we have performing at their potential and living in deep fulfillment, the better our world will be.
Fun facts:
I grew up in San Diego, lived in NYC for a couple years, and now work and play in La La Land
I'm a mom of two young boys and married to my college love
I have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and a Master's in Kinesiology/Sport Psychology
I'm a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)
I first learned how to meditate as a kid (thank you, parents!)
I was a ballet/modern dancer growing up & had a dance agent in my 20s
I love to swim, bike, run, hike, and find ways to strengthen my body & challenge my edge.
Your turn. Tell me in the comments how you love to move ⬇️
Thanks for being here! Cheers to your growth.
Feeling anxiety about joining a group run?
You’re not alone. For every person who thrives off the camaraderie of community runs, countless others opt out.
But group runs can hold a variety of benefits—if you can make it there. @dr.dayagrant explains how to get over your apprehension so you can reap the rewards.
Full story at the 🔗 in bio.
🎙️ On this episode of the @yogawithjakepodcast : I look at the intersection between neuroscience, sports psychology and yoga.
💥 To explore this topic, I’m joined by @dr.dayagrant , who seamlessly interweaves these fields in her life and work.
🙌🏼 Dr. Grant is a neuroscientist, yoga teacher and mental performance consultant to top performers, many of which are athletes.
💯 She provides specific tools she utilizes to help her clients be at their best, when it matters most — game day! She explains how one can implement these tools into their daily life.
🧠 We also discuss what “flow state” is and why it is important. She explains the neurophysiology of flow state in yoga, meditation and other activities.
🕉️ Dr. Grant also explains her take on yoga philosophy and how she implements it in her life and work.

It's Innovation Conference time! I'm super excited to speak again at this year's Yoga Medicine® Innovation Conference.
From February 9–12, @Yoga_Medicine is bringing together physicians, researchers, PhDs, physical therapists, and therapeutic yoga specialists to explore some of the most important questions shaping the future of yoga and yoga therapeutics.
On Monday, Feb 9 I'm speaking about the intersection of flow state and yoga. We're going to dive into the neuroscience of this optimal performance state and explore how pranayama (breathing techniques) and yoga philosophy align with flow.
If you’re a teacher, clinician, or educator who values curiosity, evidence, and care, I’d love for you to join us.
🗓 Feb 9–12 | Virtual
I’ve been thinking a lot about how much we personalize outcomes.
How quickly a “no” becomes a full-fledged story about who we are, what we're worth, or where we’re headed.
In tomorrow's Beyond Goal Setting workshop, we're future-proofing goals by thinking about rejection and anticipating limiting beliefs.

Things are so darn heavy right now. And honestly, showing up on here and talking about anything other than the utter insanity around us feels strange. But also, the world needs your medicine. It needs you to resist, yes, but also keep moving, steadily and intentionally, toward your purpose and your impact.
Let's gather in community and craft goals that support your nervous system in this season. Join me this Thursday for my first workshop of 2026 - Beyond Goal Setting.

If you love books and laughter, you're my kind of person.
Our book club picks won't necessarily generate laughter, but there's certainly joy infused in our monthly gatherings.
For February, we're reading "Enough: Climbing Toward a True Self on Mount Everest" by Melissa Arnot Reid. I'm thoroughly enjoying this book so far and I'd love for you to read it and come join the conversation.

Confidence arises from a regulated nervous system.
When you’re chill, your prefrontal cortex comes back online, your attention sharpens, and your self-belief becomes more accessible.
If your confidence ebbs and flows, or you feel overwhelmed with doubt and mental chatter, then practice stillness as a way to remind your nervous system that you’re safe.
I created a free confidence meditation for athletes to help you cultivate this internal shift.
Comment CONFIDENCE and I’ll send it over.
I see you over there, charging toward the 2025 finish line feeling stressed and scattered.
You've been focused on performing for 11 months and while I applaud your effort, I've got to tell it to you straight: Your nervous system wasn’t designed for nonstop output. It needs structured pauses for integration - to reduce cognitive load, consolidate learning, and strengthen the neural pathways that support high-level performance.
That’s why this sweet, end-of-the-year window matters.
When you slow down long enough to reflect and realign, you’re not stepping away from your goals. You’re laying the groundwork for massive performance gains in the year ahead.
If you want to enter 2026 with more confidence and clarity, join me on December 18 at 9am PT for my annual year-end workshop: Reflect & Reset.
Comment REFLECT for details. I'd love to see you there!
Thanksgiving week felt like an opportunity to notice the good.
We continued our annual family tradition of doing the Palisades Turkey Trot 5K, which was both beautiful and heartbreaking. Running through the streets where our friends’ homes used to be felt surreal, but when we passed our son’s burned down school, he lit up when he saw the sign, “Established 1977. Returning January 2028.” With all the empty lots - and the steady rhythm of construction - there was a palpable sense of hopefulness and community.
We also hosted 14 family members for Thanksgiving dinner, decorated for Christmas and Hanukkah, visited our temple (which miraculously survived the fire), and hiked in Malibu.
It was a solid week that felt like a power boost for these last few weeks of the year.
What happens when neuroscience meets manifestation?
Magic, baby. Magic backed by data.
I'm super stoked for our December Book Club pick: "Mind Magic" by James Doty, MD.
As someone who studies the brain and believes deeply in the power of intention, I can't wait for us to discuss this one.
Join us for the conversation!

There's tremendous joy in sharing what you know about something you care so deeply about.
Thank you @neurodrjfisch and @occidentalcollege for inviting me to speak to your students about my non-linear career path and my approach to helping athletes with their mental game.
I'm also grateful for the opportunity to speak with parents at @vikingssamohi about how to support the mental performance and mental wellbeing of their student-athletes.
Here’s to expanding this work and stepping onto new stages in 2026!
