A mother handed me this letter after I saw her daughters.
Today, on Match Day, I want every new doctor to read what she wrote.
With the mother’s permission, I’m sharing this letter I received in hopes that it encourages the incoming doctors.
When you walk into a patient’s room, every patient becomes more than a diagnosis. They become a life placed before you to help. Especially as a pediatrician, you could be that young person’s last chance at a better life not just because of the medicine you practice, but because of what you pour into their lives.
When we talk about representation, this is what we mean. When children walk into a room and their doctor looks just like them, they are given the license to dream big. Because if she looks like me and she can do it, then maybe I can too. 🥰
Beyond medicine, every human being you encounter should feel the Jesus you carry. It’s more than posting Bible verses or talking about faith. Christianity is more than a title, it’s a lifestyle. Not perfection, but a life that shines light even in the midst of imperfection.

Motherhood and marriage should not feel like silent sacrifice.
