This year, we’re stepping into A Different World. A bold, future-forward experience that honors our legacy and celebrates everything ahead for DPSCD. The District is evolving. High school is being reimagined. Opportunity is expanding. And this night will capture that momentum.
Expect unforgettable cuisine from alumni chefs, craft beverages by Sumptuous Spirits, the return of the standing-room-only Speakeasy with Jeff Ponders and a special guest, and DJ Lynda Carter keeping the energy high until our surprise celebrity performance. An out of this world event like this doesn’t happen overnight. The Tyrone E. Winfrey Hall of Fame Alumni Gala is tomorrow, but this experience has been many, many months in the making.
From site visits to select the perfect venue, food tastings to ensure every dish hits, walkthroughs, measurements, production meetings, and logistical calls galore, there’s so much that goes into delivering this event the way that we do.
Every detail has been intentional. Every decision has been made with the experience in mind. And now, we finally get to bring the vision to life!

It is truly an honor to induct the Detroit Legislative Caucus into the 2026 DPSCD Alumni Hall of Fame this Saturday. These outstanding alumni are using their platforms and power to ensure DPSCD students have access to opportunities that make them future ready. That’s the impact we’re celebrating.
Which is why we brought the Caucus together ahead of the Tyrone E. Winfrey Hall of Fame Alumni Gala to connect, share more about the significance of this moment, and ensure every detail reflects the stature of the honor.
It’s also a point of pride that this experience is 90% alumni-produced, and that’s by design. From the induction class to the fine details of the event, this is a testament that DPSCD produces excellence.
