“I didn’t grow up around construction sites—I grew up in Australia, where water conservation is a way of life. Being somewhere where fresh water is scarce and expensive teaches you to be intentional about what you use. This early awareness lit a spark in me to protect our natural resources that’s never gone out. I’m a mechanical engineer by training (PE). I spent nearly 15 years working on the consulting side—energy modeling, high-performance buildings and sustainability strategies. I loved the work, but I kept coming back to one question: where can I be most impactful? During the pandemic, that answer got clearer. If we want to move sustainability from ‘nice to have’ to ‘how we build,’ we have to embed it in the decisions that shape the job—early, practical, and tied to how teams execute work. That’s what brought me to DPR. Before I joined, I worked with DPR as an energy consultant on their San Diego and Phoenix net-zero energy offices—and I saw a company that genuinely walks the talk. When the opportunity came to lead sustainability efforts in the Southwest, I took it. Nearly five years later, I’m still energized by the same thing: translating big sustainability goals into real actions—in preconstruction, logistics, materials, waste diversion—that make projects healthier, more resilient, and more responsible for our teams, customers and communities. I'm also a mom. My son is 7, and becoming a parent turned my passion into a non-negotiable purpose. I want his generation to inherit a planet they can enjoy. In construction, we have a real opportunity to make that happen. Sustainability is often seen as a cost premium, but the reality is it drives genuine savings—and leaves communities with cleaner air, cleaner water, lasting infrastructure, and a stronger workforce. That's not a trade-off. That's the whole point..." (Caption continued in the comments.)

Congratulations to Hartford HealthCare, Yale New Haven Health, and Proton International, LLC on a major milestone in the construction of Connecticut’s first proton therapy center!🎉 The 55-metric-ton cyclotron—the powerful particle accelerator at the heart of the new Connecticut Proton Center—, and the 75-metric-ton gantry—the rotating modality that delivers the beam to the patient—, were successfully installed in Wallingford, CT. This marks a transformative step toward bringing cutting-edge cancer treatment to the region. As the general contractor, DPR is proud to have partnered with these visionary organizations to deliver a facility that will offer life-saving care closer to home for millions across New England. The precision and collaboration required to safely lower the 55-ton cyclotron and the 75-ton gantry into place through specially designed roof openings is a testament to the strength of this partnership and the dedication of every team member involved. We’re honored to help build the future of cancer care in Connecticut. Learn more by visiting our link in bio.🔗

Big congrats to the team behind the Waterline tower, which last week delivered the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) for all areas of the building through level 40. This milestone marks the project’s transition into post-occupancy for the 1 Hotel Austin, offices and retail spaces at Waterline Austin. It takes grit and determination to perform at this level, and that's what makes building great things possible!⭐ To learn more about the project, visit our link in bio.🔗
