"Imperfect Days" - a new 30 minute documentary that I directed, shot & edited is having its premiere this Sunday at the Pálás Cinema. Produced by my wonderful wife Laura Qualter. This project has been our labour of love this year. Filled with incredible people, we hope this story highlights a little of the challenges faced by those with Diabetes & those who hope to improve patient outcomes via public patient involvement in clinical trials.
Thanks to the whole teams at Ardán, CÚRAM, Research Ireland Centre for Medical Devices, Diabetes Collaborative Clinical Trial Network & University of Galway for entrusting us with telling this incredibly important story and for helping us along the way.
This film would be nothing without our participants - I want to say a special thanks to Carmel, Tony, Faye & Karen for letting us into their lives and helping to bring their stories to the screen.

Delighted to announce that myself & @lauraqualter have been commissioned to produce the 10th CÚRAM/ Ardán Science on Screen Research Documentary that will explore the impact of clinical trials in Ireland! This is also our first production as part as our new company; Prospect Films.
A little info: 2025 marks the 10th year of Science on Screen, a partnership between CÚRAM, Research Ireland Centre for Medical Devices at University of Galway, and Ardán. For the tenth film, Ardán and CÚRAM have teamed up with Diabetes Collaborative Clinical Trial Network who have received funding from the Health Research Board (HRB) to make a film about clinical trials and how they can impact on Irish society.
The film will premiere this November and we are excited to get production underway!

Some stills from a short doc I created for @curam_devices . This story follows Maude O’Donoghue who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis but “feels very human and normal” when she swims. She is a patient volunteer for the Multiple Sclerosis Research Group and it was amazing working with her and hearing her story.
