“For PAKKA, we faced the challenge of establishing a long-standing friendship in a short time, as the film opens almost immediately in conflict. To achieve this, Annelotte first built a liminal soundscape for the opening track, Flower Boys, immersing us in the friends’ world - a cricket club suspended in time, where only the four of them exist in full subjectivity. She then layered arpeggiator textures and modular rhythms to bring out the playfulness, athleticism, and queer joy of this chosen family. We return to these textures through the film as the friends cling to their unravelling bonds. In Kathir’s Bachelor Party, as repressed emotions rise to the surface, Annelotte introduces a melody that becomes the heart of the film. In the final track, Pakka, this melody returns in a bolder, more haunting form, marking the beginning of a new chapter, a friendship irrevocably redefined. We hope you enjoy the soundtrack.”
