We earned a spot to represent Philly and USA on the world stage! Discovery Pathways Youth Dragon Boat Team has earned a berth to compete at the World Championships in Taiwan in August 2026!!
We need your help to spread our story or donate if you can. With @dpdragonboat
After 74 practices and a season of strong finishes, 12 South Philly youth will represent our community as a Small Boat crew. All are from low-income families, most are immigrants or refugees, and nearly all were new to sports just two years ago. They earned this opportunity.
We are raising funds to cover flights, registration, and basic travel costs. Families cannot afford this, and we will not place that burden on them. We will travel and stay as affordably as possible.
A donor is matching every gift over $50 — so $100 becomes $200.
If you’re able, please donate and share. Link in bio.
Thanks to @companionpethospital for sponsoring our Youth Dragon Boat team in 2026. Local sponsors are crucial to ensuring we can offer free programs for all youth! We are so grateful to Companion Pet Hospital! And they are the incredible vets to our staffs beloved dog and cat! The dragon boat team is not funded by any big grants or city funding so small local sponsors are essential! We can’t wait to hit the water in the spring! With @dpdragonboat@adamforbes29

thank you for your service, your strokes, and your emotional support during all our races this season. we’ll keep your legacy alive by continuing to scream “DIG DIG DIG” slightly off-beat 🥲
our last race of the season took us 2 and a half hours to NY, 5 back-to-back races, and many, many new friends 💚
